D O.C.

That is really sic and I did not even know Joe was on there. I'll bet the wooden nickel OxyBob paid me off with this year that he did not vote his team #1.

You'd win. He's not allowed to vote on his own team.

The johns think it's rigged and Joe's presence is why Linfield is ranked #1 at the moment.

LOL--even though Whitewater's coach is on the committee?  You'd think the Warhawks would be higher than 4 if it was rigged!

If they're not ahead of Linfield and Central, someone must have cheated.

QuoteThis Saturday's schedule:

Whittier (2-4, 0-3 SCIAC) @ La Verne (0-5, 0-4)  1:00 p.m.
Cal Lutheran (5-1, 3-0) @ Oxy (5-1, 3-0)  7:00 p.m.
Claremont (3-3, 1-3) @ Chapman (2-4)  7:00 p.m.
Pomona (4-2, 2-1) @ Redlands (5-1, 3-1)  7:00 p.m.

Picks:

Purple Poets should win this one.  However, I have to believe that La Verne will win a game this year, and it's probably going to be either this one or Pomona.  So I'll go with La Verne by 3 in an ugly one.

Claremont-Chapman should be another close one.  I'll go with Claremont's reliable rushing game vs. Chapman's erratic play.  Stags by 7

Redlands rocks Pomona's world.  P-P's offense, which is good against bad teams, gets trounced by the Bulldog D.  The real thing to watch for here is if Caron thows a meaningless TD pass as time expires against Redlands' scout team D.  I don't want to beat a dead horse, I'm only saying this because if he doesn't, I'd like to think that means the Carons read my posts and I have a small, indirect effect on SCIAC play.  8) Redlands by 35+

The Who vs. Occidental Glorious

I think most of the intricacies of this game have been hashed out pretty well.  Cal-Lu looks like a more balanced team than last year's defense-dominated one (apologies to Kingsmen4, it wasn't your fault  :-\).  I think most of us would agree Cal-Lu wins this one on paper, but Oxy's strength lies in its reseliency as seen against Redlands and Linfield, as well as the fact that Oxy expects to win and wills themselves to come out on top in close games.    Oxy will dominate in the box on defense, as well as on special teams.  Oxy's veteran reciever core will grind out tough 1st downs when it counts the most, and we all know J. Wash can take one to the house on any given play.  If the offense can couple this with 100+yds from Haller, Oxy plays the Grinch that stole Halloween and sends the Who back to Whoville once again.  Oxy by 1

ULV-Whittier should be a good close game. La Verne made it awfully uncomfortable for Oxy last Saturday. Another 10 yards and the Leopards might have had a chance to win the game with a FG. Whittier stepped all over itself against Pomona. Pick: La Verne.

That would work. Now is the time to run him, run him, run him.

I'd like to see Stuart run, Stuart run, Stuart run as well.

Then in the second half they can both display the play action they've been practicing.

Headed to Tokyo for NZ vs. Australia Halloween rugby game... talk to you all in a few days when the SCIAC race is a whole lot clearer...

Kingsmen4

Clu takes a balanced attack approach and grinds out drives with a few big plays that put them over the top, while their d plays bend but don't break football and forces key turnovers with big hits and fast play. The who wins by 10 and trick or treat on colorado after with the white out crowd right behind them. Enough is enough - its our year, its gotta be! the seniors know what is at stake.

Sure sounds like Oxy . . .
