The minimalist design has been consistent throughout Coach Widolff's tenure.  I like it . . . simple, clean.  In the 70's we had (among others) orange pants with black ad white piping along with black home jerseys and white away.  Our helmets were orange with black and white center strips with a diagonal "oxy" on either side.

I like Dale's approach better.

You could help the guy at The Helmet Project update the info on Oxy ...

I'll see if I can find some archival photos and forward to the site.  Thanks for the tip.

The University of Redlands and the Bulldog football program are proud to announce the hiring of Lenny Rodriguez as the Defensive Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator, effective immediately.

"Coach Rodriguez brings a wealth of knowledge and championship coaching experience to Bulldog football," commented Head Coach Mike Maynard, who enters his 23rd year at the helm. "He is highly motivated, committed to excellence, and a tremendous builder of men. His track record of success is nothing short of amazing."

Rodriguez offers 25 years of coaching experience that ranges from high school to NCAA Division I. During his recent tenure at Mount San Antonio College (Mt. SAC), he coordinated the defense to the Junior College California State and National championships in 2009, a feat that he also accomplished earlier in 1997. This past season Rodriguez led the Mounties in an epic defensive battle in the national title game, coming out on top by a score of 7-6 against the College of San Mateo.

In addition to his recent successes, Rodriguez brings incredible knowledge and experiences from his eight seasons at the University of New Mexico. At UNM, he played an instrumental role in creating the vaunted 3-3-5 defense which took UNM to bowl games in 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2006.

"I'm excited to join the Bulldog family and I look forward to the upcoming 2010 season," stated Rodriguez. "The team is showing great leadership and enthusiasm. I want to help the defense play harder, stronger and faster to get us back to winning the conference championship."

During his illustrious coaching career, Rodriguez has developed the talents of a number of National Football League (NFL) superstars, including Quincy Black of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chris McAlister of the Baltimore Ravens, Antonio Pierce of the New York Giants, and Brian Urlacher of the Chicago Bears.

"Self-praise is for losers. Be a winner. Stand for something. Always have class, and be humble." John Madden

This guy seems pretty legit - I'm sure Maynard was praying for the Mt. Sac talent to follow him over. Did it?

Nope.  They mostly went D1.  those who didn't , stayed for another year.

Listen up, class. You've got about two minutes before the bell. Copy the vocabulary words off the board. Use them in an essay that is due at the beginning of next class Monday.

Redlands seems to be doing a good job getting this new coach. Should help them in recruiting as well.

Thank you. I love playing against Redlands. Always had a great defense to compete against. And I enjoyed playing against Selway. He is a good QB and great competitor.

The good ol' days when I got to throw to a very talented and football savvy group of WR's.

Snoop Dawg,

Thanks for the support. After reading this board I am going to assume that there was a specific reason you were going against Redlands. Happy to have you on our side for that game. Hopefully CLU can keep up the streak of beating Redlands... thats 2 years in a row now.
:)
