When a SCIAC team has an infraction of conference  and/or NCAA rules, is there a committee that meets to investigate the allegations and possibly impose additional sanctions against the school and/or coach if allegations are proven?

Kingsmen4

11... That's all that we ask.

Other than that maybe bring a few coolers of suds and that infamous jug of wildcat juice that gch speaks so highly of and at least you will make a vacation out of it.

Though not a SCIAC team Chapman plays 7 of its 9 scheduled games with SCIAC opponents  with 3 of its 4 wins in 2009 against the SCIAC and close losses to Redlands and Occidental.

http://www.chapmanathletics.com/sports/fball/2010-11/releases/0819?

ITheir wins, as usual, were against the usual suspects at the bottom of the SCIAC, and all by small margins. They lost to Whittier which never helps out a team's cause (No offense whittier faithful).

Chapman will need a strong showing this season, and a few of the following to even show its face as a competitor with the SCIAC, and will need upsets of the Big 3 (Redlands, Oxy, Cal Lu).

CLU camp so far has shown some new incoming beasts with a lot of potential, and some key players back form injury.

It will be interesting to see how the starting line-ups pan out, but there will be some atheltes on the field to face Linfield at the start of the season.

I guess that would have put them in about 4th/5th place in the SCIAC in 2009. And again
they will have more games(7) in the SCIAC than any SCIAC team(6) - of course SCIAC teams  can't play themselves  :D)

Redlands had a HUGE 3 POINT WIN(Chapman missed 3 FG) and OCCIDENTAL with a CRUSHING  6 point victory...in 2010...Yep I can see they are no match for these guys....or that dominating 3 point win by Occidental in 2008...I did see CLU did get a loss back in 2007 to the lowly Panthers...

I guess they should not even show up against the SCIAC Big 3....this year...or maybe just the BIG 3 should run out their 2nd/3rd teams for these games...or hold team scrimmages those weeks...

Sorry K4, this is strictly a business trip.  LA is the last place that I would come to for a vacation.  However, GHC will be ready to knock back a few before the game.

"about 4th place in the SCIAC" is not exactly a barn-burner of a season. The SCIAC is looked at as one of the weaker conferences in the west, and anything less than 1st place has gotten little to no shot at a playoff spot since I have been paying attention for the last 10 years.

Chapman is a weak non-conference opponent for teams in the SCIAC/NWC trying to vie for a playoff bid because unfortunetely, "almost" beating a team doesn't do much for strength of schedule, or opponent's win percentage, or opponent's opponent's win percentage. The fact that they do not belong to a conference, and play the same teams that all of the SCIAC opponents already play also contributes as a negative for these SCIAC/NWC teams. If Chapman was located anywhere outside of the "economic realm" of SCIAC schools I would bet that they would slip off of many of the SCIAC team's schedules, for more sought after and "stength building" non-conference opponents.

Like it or not there are 3 dominant teams in the SCIAC and then the lesser teams that struggle significantly against the top 3. this is not jsut a general consensus of posters on this board, look at the numbers. To not be able to beat those teams consistently (and much less Whittier) only bolsters the idea that Chapman football would not make a real precense in the SCIAC... the record says it all.

If CLU made field goals against OXY in 06' and 08' we could have won conference and gone to the playoffs ... But we didn't ... Almost only counts with horseshoes and hand grenades...

Chapman's team in 07' was their best in recent history. They were a solid team that competed with many of the top teams they played and yes kicked our assend out of their shiny new staduim (they sent us packing to Oxy where we upset the #12 team in the nation the following week). BUT until they consistently beat the better teams in the SCIAC I do not agree with the argument that they would be a contender. Yes they have a great campus, great facility, great location, ideal recruiting means, but NO - they don't compete with the top teams on a regular basis.

Whether they show up for this year's contests is up to them I guess? Success is proven by winning games, not speculating.

Oh, shut up. In the last 10 years Chapman is 3-24 against Oxy, UR and CLU. Three-and-freaking-twenty-four. Chapman has two lousy winning seasons in the last 10 years, both of those with Eric Marty, who's long gone. 4-5 last year, 21-24 the last five years, 36-57 the last 10 years. Claremont has a better record during that time. Chapman would be the perennial 5th place team in the SCIAC.

Snoop lives in Pomona where he runs his Pop-Warner franchise and makes Rap music... Ohhhhh you meant THAT Snoop... oops.

T.O. is not exactly L.A. , it is sort of like McMinville but with sunshine, women w/ out leg hair, and modern plumbing/electricity... so maybe the long trip will at least be worth a hot shower???

:D ;D :D ;D

I look forward to trying the Cat' Juice (not the stuff fluffy let out on the living room carpet, the "high octane" stuff in the barrell). I would really reccomend tailgating in the big park behind the home stands for all of the Cats' fans. Plenty of room to park RV's, and plenty of grass next to the Luballer tailgaiters. At least we could start some banter back and forth and share some food/drink. Don't be strangers, it will be a great time on a beautiful season opener.

It will take a BEST GAME OF PROGRAM HISTORY effort to beat this Linfield team, and no doubt in my mind we have that game in us.

Hope that both teams come in and out of the opener healthy, and that I can take a few more cheap shots at you guys before 9/11.

Plumming in Mac seemed to be working pretty good when Linfield flushed CLU down the drain and out of the first round. ;)

I agree that Chapman should be in the SCIAC. They do "occasionally" make some "noise" during the season, but to say they are a threat to the SCIAC Big Three? Not going to happen anytime soon. Maybe if they got into the SCIAC they would be able to recruit some formidable talent to become a threat! Hell, they are in Orange County! Not only are there legitimate high schools that are located in that area, but the beach is maybe a fifteen minute drive with traffic!

I do however think that Mr. Bob is holding out on some insider info on Coach Widolff's departure...
