I hope our DAWGS have some BIG FIGHT in 'em this year!

I wish the Maroon and Whatever would step up so LINFIELD does not have to schedule Laverne.

I think its good that the only thing you guys can knock on Selway is his age, if his game was bad, you guys would focus on that...So I think Selway and I will take each "age" insult as a compliment...So thanks

I love being bulletin board material. "C'mon, you Bulldogs, let's go out there and stick it to that mean OxyBob." As for the comment about Selway's age, I meant it as a compliment. It must be nice for UR to have a guy around who can conjure up some "back in the day" stories about how Redlands once beat Oxy. Of course, now that I think about it, Selway's only been there since 2005, so he'd have to get someone from the 2003 team to share those fond faded memories.

Actually Mr. Bob, Selway has Mike Werner, a D-line coach at Redlands, who played for the Maroon and Gray during the 2003 season, to discuss how to beat Oxy. We appreciate the concern!
The only reason we make you "bulletin board" material is because you tend to overly express your dislike for the Bulldogs. I thank you for it! It tends to make the season more interesting, so nothing personal, but if you can't take playful criticism it, don't dish it!

I would love to see us play  Linfield! However for some reason Coach Maynard likes to play Whitworth each year... Which reminds me there will be an In-and- Out truck in the dirt parking lot for that game, as well as Hanger 24 (A local Redlands Brewery) on tap for the pre-game festivities.
It's not whether you get knocked down, it's whether you get up.

Oh, I can take it, just like you can take a 7th straight loss to the Tigers.

Just to further add to this discussion, I spoke with some seasoned (former) SCIAC players who are now coaches and they brought up two legitimate arguments. The first being that if the SCIAC was to allow Chapman in, then recruiting talent would be significantly difficult for the current SCIAC schools. Therefore, current coaches would not vote Chapman in.
Second, apparently Chapman violated rules in terms of eligibility requirements in the 1990's. Some players were playing past their eligibility. No worries Bulldog fans, Selway was granted two seasons due to his injuries that has been accepted by the NCAA...

That's alright, rumor has it that Oxy has found an unused year of eligibility for Andy Collins so we can look forward to another Collins-Selway matchup! ;D

So fear of Chapman recruiting and rule violations from the 90's. Wow....I guess you never get out of the jail house for the rules violation and Why could the SCIAC not compete in recruitment..

They seem to do ok in Football. The top tier competes against Chapman in Basketball and Baseball and with wins over Chapman  .SCIAC games with Chapman are very close in Soccer. Softball SCIAC team regularly beat Chapman. The SCIAC has schools with Majors that Chapman does not offer.  Facilities at Cal Lu that exceeed Chapman's.

So there is no real GOOD REASON. I always thought to be the best you play the best not fear competion. WHY would anything change ? You really think players choose SCIAC over Chapman because Chapman in not in SCIAC. It really makes no difference in recruitment in my opinion.

BULLDOGALUM52,

Correct me if I am wrong, but football coaches do not vote who gets in to a conference. It is the President of the college/university.

Regarding the eligibility situation at Chapman back in the early 90's, I am very familiar with the situation. When you cut to the chase, after a certain SCIAC school  (which I will not name) turned Chapman in to the NCAA, an investigation was done and the NCAA ruled that CU did not violate any rules.
NCAA D3 compliance rules for transfers varies from the other divisions. I suggest that you read the rules/policies regarding the situation and better your knowledge of what happened before you make generic statements.

Regarding CU joining the SCIAC, this has been an ongoing topic since CU switched to D3 and has been argued on these boards since I began following D3sports.com. Unlike a conversation regarding which team will win a game, which is settled after the final horn, this one won't be settled here. Plus, if it was settled, what would we have to debate about during the off-season? In the meantime, CU will play its schedules in the various sports which will continue to include  some NACC, NAIA and other unaffiliated schools.

Pete and Repeat:

CrashDavisD3: Chapman should be in the SCIAC.
dahlby: I agree, Chapman should be in the SCIAC.
CD: Why isn't Chapman in the SCIAC? Chapman should be in the SCIAC.
d: Chapman has been kept out of the SCIAC when it should be in the SCIAC.
CD: Will Chapman ever get into the SCIAC? Because Chapman should be in the SCIAC.
d: I agree with you, CD. Chapman should be in the SCIAC, but Chapman is not in the SCIAC where it should be.
CD: Well, Chapman should be in the SCIAC.
d: Maybe someday Chapman will be in the SCIAC, but Chapman isn't in the SCIAC.
CD: Chapman should be in the SCIAC.
d: Chapman should be in the SCIAC.
CD: I guess we agree that Chapman should be in the SCIAC.
d: Yes, we agree that although Chapman isn't in the SCIAC, Chapman should be in the SCIAC.
CD: I'm glad we agree.

You seem to be missing quotes and footnotes referring to the balance of the conversation(s).
