Selway cramped up.  The announcers said it is his last year.

nothing in the SCIAC beats watching a last minute game winning score from in front of the snack shack at Mt. Clef.

Or watching the 59-yard game-winning FG go just under the crossbar, or the 30-yard game-tying FG go wide left in a driving rainstorm.

OxyBob

OK how about a Chapman moment vs SCIAC team Pomona

Game tying field goal attempt, bad snap turned into a game winning TD pass

This... is a simple game. You throw the ball. You hit the ball. You catch the ball.  "There are three types of baseball players: those who make things happen, those who watch it happen, and those who wonder what happened."

It's not whether you get knocked down, it's whether you get up.

CalLu really did beef up this year, especially the coaching staff.
Marshall U. transfer will be fun to watch. My 2 cents says he will try to start running himself.

Caught the first half of the CLU-Linfield game. Cal Lutheran has definitely beefed up, especially on the o-line. The transfer quarterback is tall and throws a nice ball. The WR Eric Rogers is going to be a nightmare for SCIAC DBs.

Saw all of the usual Linfield suspects as well as scandihoovian. Although I'm sure CLU's new football stadium will be a showplace, as a fan to me Mt. Clef is as good as it gets anywhere for college football. Get in for free, all games played in the warm sunshine, stand or sit wherever you want. I doubt they'll be able to duplicate that atmosphere with the new field.

That's weird, I don't recall the Chapman-Pomona game being played at Mt. Clef. Who knew!?

EDIT:

Cal Lutheran 47, Linfield 42 Final

Not only did Jordan Barta & Co. bring the house, they brought the whole f-ing subdivision. Nice job, CLU.

Congrats to CLU for improving with the transfers AND a heck of a second half.

A job well done today Cal Lutheran. A big win for your program and a huge win for the SCIAC.

Great game by Cal Lu in getting a big win over Linfield..A team that if it stays healthy can win the SCIAC and go deep in the playoffs.....

I wanted to say kudos to both Cal Lu and Linfield. I live in Kentucky and I was able to watch the game on Cal Lu's website, and it was a great game (certainly better than the stupid FSU/ OK game we got here). It was really entertaining and I think both teams will end up being dangerous by the end of the season. Here's fingers crossed the playoff committee sees fit to let them meet outside the first round.

PS - Great job to Cal Lu on the video and commentary. They did a really great job and made it easy for someone not too familiar with both schools situations to feel involved in the game.
A fan of good football - wherever it may be found.

It was great to be a part of such a historical win for the program. This team is for real and it felt great to see them perform when there were so many question marks on the horizon. The alumni showed up strong and were going crazy as we should have been. Call it over the top, we were just happy to be a part of such a great game. Was bothered by some of the stuff I saw/heard after the game... Both teams battled hard and linfield was a gracious opponent. Was a little too engulfed in our steady pre-game to make it over for a "longie" - disappointed in that for sure... Maybe in November?? Congrats to the players and coaches that hung in their today and left it all on the field. Much deserved! PLU next. Go get them.

You were disappointed? The reason we lost is you didn't come by to say, "Hi!"
The jug ended up engulfed itself when the first tough guy security came by and had every single person dump every single plastic cup in that little creek over by the chapel.   :-\

Well as disappointing as the outcome was for the 'Cats I do need to say congrats to CLU for making the changes in the offseason to become a much more physical and talented team that last season.   That was a huge victory for CLU and congrats for that.  The 'Cats will live to fight another day.

You mean the student/alumni in the sling that was a foot away from the post-game hand shake line that was pointing at Linfield players saying "f*ck you" "you guys are P**sies" and "Fa**ots".  I know what he was saying because I asked him to walk away and he proceeded to give me the same treatment.   Yeah, there are punks in just about every crowd but having a drunk jerkoff like that a foot away from the players on the field after the game was just asking for major trouble.  CLU's admin needs to clean the garbage up.

However, I'm not going to let one or two D-Bags ruin my impression of the other fine CLU folks I met in TO

CLU is famous for the few punks who can drop profanities at the players. 99% of CLU fans and players are fine people but it is the less than 1% that make the noise. Baseball games in the past with CLU have these same type of punks park pickup trucks outside the right field fence. They get in the lawn chairs in the back bed of their trucks, drink, get drunk and send a constant barage of F** this all game long to the right fielder. It has gotten much better in recent years with less of the red neck crowd in the OF so it less of a problem than a few years ago.

Right before the game desertcdat1 and I were standing at the fieldhouse door when all the linemen came out of door and you should have heard what they said.
