I would love to see them make a run and at least knock off Linfield... They do have a good RB who can make it though a semester of school* ............ ;-)

Your You're* obviously going back to Joan Rivers again ... Give her a break. She didn't know that badminton in the 40's took up all of her eligibility. She's still in school - studying rocket science with OB. No telling whether she can stand another whole semester with him so maybe your you're* right ...

Article about Claremont's Yingling brothers from the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin:

QuoteCMS' Eric and Scott Yingling happy to share field

For Eric and Scott Yingling, time away from the football field made them appreciate the sport even more.

The brothers play for a Claremont-Mudd- Scripps squad that's off to a 4-0 start for the first time since 2002, when it won the first seven games. Scott had his collegiate career derailed for two years by injuries, while Eric had his put on hold by four years in the Marines, including a 10-month deployment to Iraq.

This is the last year they'll get to play together, so they're enjoying this season even more. The team's success adds another dimension to the experience, but the Stags (4-0, 1-0) face a stiff test Saturday when they take on the University of Redlands (3-1, 1-1) in a 7 p.m. showdown at Ted Runner Stadium.
...

For a while it looked like both might opt for military service. Scott graduated from high school in 2005 and was recruited heavily by the Naval Academy. He spent a year at a naval prep school, then another in a trade school before deciding it wasn't for him.

Eric graduated high school in 2004 and was already into his military career, something he hasn't ruled out going back to when his education at CMS is finished. He first thought about the military his junior year and was leaning more toward the Army at that time. He also talked with the Marines. When that branch called him back a year later, he decided that was the path to take.
...

Eric was based out of Camp Pendleton, 38 miles north of San Diego. In December 2005 he was deployed to the city of Fallujah, 40 miles west of Baghdad.
...

Both brothers are now ready to be big contributors for the first time. Scott starts at defensive end, while Eric is in the mix at a tackle position after being sidelined by a leg injury the first four games. They've earned the respect of their teammates.
...

Both know that the jury is still out on their team. The 4-0 start is nice, but two of the victories are over teams that are still winless, and their first four foes are a combined 4-13. A win over the Bulldogs, therefore, will go a long way in earning the Stags some respect.

CRASHDAVISD3:
Now I am going to be second guessing my spelling knowing Oxy Bob is on "Grammar and Punctuation" watch!

I'm getting old and my brain doesn't always send the proper signals to my fingers or maybe my fingers just can't keep up with the speed of my brain!

Good luck to everyone this weekend!  Hopefully there will be some exciting games to report on!  I'll be heading to Redlands again.  Hoping for a big "W" this week.

Doesn't SCIAC have a "pick'ems" board?

Cal Lutheran should win
Chapman vs Whitter....toss up.... Whitter
Clarement walks away
Occidental......only because of Oxy Bob.   :D

Pick'em

The Kingsmen will own, destroy, pummel, abuse and toss away the Leopards. Foregone conclusion.
Poets by the thinnest of margins over the Panthers.
The Stags will crawl, not walk, away from a two TD defeat to the victorious Bulldogs.
The Tigers will devour the Sagehens in this classic matchup and return of DW to the field.

This, and two bucks will get you a large coffee at Starbucks.

Nice to see that Coach Widloff has been released from solitary confinement.

Be sure and park in the right spot on campus, coach, or the Oxy administration may haul you off in shackles.
