Well....well? Just for your info K4, our running back who averaged 12.3 ypc on September 11, has been out for the season since the fourth game.

I am reminded of something, my vivid memory having not been tainted by any pre-game purple punch, that Solute right corner back on the 11th was to be had all day.  I venture to say he will be exploited this Saturday. Please don't tell him.  I would not want any student-athlete to get nervous.

No on attending the game, eh?

I'm sure they will have a ton of fun playing in Oregon, probably even more than hanging that goose egg on Oxy last week, giving them a sweet 4-5 record on the year.

SCIAC "Big 3" = Cal Lu, Redlands, Oxy Claremont  :o

:D

-Go Lu
It was nice seeing even Chapman's lowly football team beat the mighty OXY this year and would have finished behind the BIG 3 this year if in the SCIAC this year....

Cal Lu, Redlands, Claremont, Oxy, Chapman  ;D
Chapman academically also is ahead of Cal Lu, La Verne, Redlands, Whittier also... :D

OB will have to get use to seeing Chapman soon in SCIAC....
This... is a simple game. You throw the ball. You hit the ball. You catch the ball.  "There are three types of baseball players: those who make things happen, those who watch it happen, and those who wonder what happened."

RUSHING           No.  Gain  Loss   Net   TD   Lg   Avg.
Aaron Williams    7      86     0      86    1     71    12.3

On 6 carries he averaged 2.5 yards per carry. 7 total carries with one long touchdown isn't exactly a sigh of relief that he isn't going to be in the game on Sat, I'm sure #2 and the other back-ups have done fine in his absence.

-As far as our D goes...
There has been a new starter at right corner since PLU (a Soph, 4 year player). He started at Nickel the first two games and played well, so they moved him to corner and has been solid. The player that filled in his spot at Nickel/Safety (a Soph, 4 year player) lead the SCIAC in interceptions for a number of weeks, and is a big time player - took one back almost all the way at Redlands, you remember that play I'm sure. Also, a linebacker (Soph, 4 year player) that started 8 games (did not play against Linfield) ended up leading the team in tackles.

Not the same Defense, or Offense for that matter that you saw week one.  ;)

I will not be attending this year. Too cold and rainy ;-)

Just curious K4, how can a player be a sophomore and a 4 year player?  ??? Unless they are all Dan Selway.  :o

Nice man. Four year record: 4-32. Not much to work with at ULV.

See they are also getting a new track and field (artificial turf)....

Its pretty easy. They come in as a freshman, and then stay all 4 years. I know from experience. The point is they are not transfers, so they are 4 year players...

K4--saw this question on the general playoff board and thought perhaps you might have some info.

CLU can't host because their facilities aren't up to snuff. They are doing a scrape off/rebuild this offseason.

Didn't Franklin have a similar situation in 2008, but was able to host their 3rd round game (vs. Wheaton) at a nearby high school?
The Franklin situation was different. They had used their field in a rainstorm and it was torn up so much it was unplayable so the NCAA let them use a nearby HS for the game.

So why couldn't CLU host at a So. Cal. high school field?  I don't see the difference in the CLU and Franklin situations.  Both had sub-standard on-campus facilities.

Oaks Christian and Moorpark College are both nearby and have nice facilities.

If they come in as a freshman and play 4 years...they are a senior....so you're talking about a senior? Why call him a freshman unless he doesn't act like one?

Its not that hard. Transers play two years or less, and come from other colleges. We have plenty of players that are 4 year guys, meaning they came in as freshman and did not transfer after playing at another collegiate school... like the 3 sophmores that I mentioned - among many others in the starting line-up. Look at Cal Lu's returning starters for next year... this isn't a one season and done squad with a bunch of guys that were brought in to fill holes temporarily like the Linfielders make it out to seem. They are returning over 15 starters next year, from what I have looked at  it will be about 18 returning starters.

Cal Lu can't host beacuse they don't have the capacity, the visitor's facilities/locker room, and the ability to properly monitor entrance fee's.

They can't host at another field because that would require renting the space from that school, and in turn costing the NCAA more money and lowering their already thin margins for covering travel expenses with ticket sales, etc.
