And, on the wrong board....this is the football board, not the basketball board.

PS, I would suggest you show some class.

Sensitive, huh?!  :o

This must have been the first non-football post on here, I definitely NEVER see those, so my bad. I will lock it up.

Post police in full effect this off season. I will just chalk it up to a rough year in Eagle Rock. :D

Are you sure it's not a CLU tape directed to the parents of Redlands recruits.

No wonder Selway stayed six years. ;)

Looking at Redlands roster it looks like they lose about 25 through graduation.  Anybody have any idea how many of those were starters?

I scanned the list of Seniors and recognized only about 10 of the names (from attending the games last year)........There may be a few who are listed as Seniors who could still have eligibility left..........NO NOT SELWAY ;)

The University of Redlands' former starting quarterback Dan Selway (Villa Park, CA) signed a professional contract this past February to play in the Finnish American Football League for the Border Knights (Lappeenranta Rajaritarit) this upcoming spring.

"It's a great opportunity for me to continue my football career at the professional level. European football has a lot to offer and I am very excited about Lappeenranta," Selway stated in a recent email.

The Knights are located in southwest Finland and were established in 1983. The team competes as a member of the American Football Association of Finland (SAJL), which was established in 1979. In addition, the SAJL is a founding member of both the European Federation of American Football (EFAF) and the International Federation of American Football (IFAF).

Selway is one of three American players allowed per team.

According to the Lappeenranta web site, the club is very excited for the former Bulldog to join their roster.

Director of player transactions Mikko Koskinen said (as translated), "We wanted a director. Selway is the quarterback and has led by example with his actions on the field. We are attacking next season by running and throwing up and down the field, and Selway is the one who can do that for us."

"I am very optimistic about our team and our chance to do very well this season and compete for the top spot in Finland. I am training hard and can't wait to arrive in Finland to start working with the team," Selway added.

Before signing with the Rajaritarit, Selway was one of the most decorated players in Bulldog history.

In his career at Redlands, Selway threw for nearly 7,500 yards with 77 touchdown passes on 614 completions in 1,001 attempts. He also led the team to a 27-5 record. In home games, Selway was 15-1 as the Bulldogs' top play-caller.

During his final season with the Maroon and Gray, Selway led the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) in passing yards, total offense, touchdown passes and season winning percentage.

After receiving three All-Conference nods in his career, including the 2007 SCIAC Offensive Player of the Year, he landed on two All-America lists and was invited to the postseason all-star game for Division III football.

Europe is a great opportunity for guys to continue playing, and a great experience living in another country. Selway will dominate in Finland.

Former CLU D-Line Standout and SCIAC Defensive POY Jacob Calderon made his pro debut, starting for the Wyoming Calvary of the IFL last Firday in Amirillo Texas against the Venom. He has put in a lot of work to continue playing (was also signed to the Green Bay Blizzard last year) so congrats go out to him. From what I heard he played a solid game at rush end.

Every school has their share of those guys... just so happens that these guys decided to make a video of it. hahaha...

Congrats to Selway on continuing his football career. Good to see another SCIAC player playing after college.
