Andy was married the same day my son was.  The pain that family must be going through is unimaginable............

May God be with them all.

"Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!"  Dennis Miller

"Three things you don't want to be in football, slow, small and friendly!"  John Madden

"You can learn more character on the two-yard line than anywhere else in
life." Paul Dietzel / LSU

I am so sad to hear about Andy Collins.  God bless his family and comfort them in their pain and suffering.

Forbes' states as the basis for its methodology the following:

"Our annual ranking of the 650 best undergraduate institutions focuses on the things that matter the most to students: quality of teaching, great career prospects, graduation rates and low levels of debt. Unlike other lists, we pointedly ignore ephemeral measures such as school "reputation" and ill-conceived metrics that reward wasteful spending. We try and evaluate the college purchase as a consumer would:  Is it worth spending as much as a quarter of a million dollars for this degree?"

"Outside of Princeton and Harvard (#6), Ivy League schools fare relatively poorly, suggesting that their reputations might be a bit overblown.  Yale (#14), Brown (#21) and Dartmouth (#30) crack the top 5%, but the other Ivies – Columbia (#42), Cornell (#51) University of Pennsylvania (#52) — do not."

Not sure how many others agree, especially since there is no mention of the proficiency of a school's football team.   ;)

Hard to prove on a football board that there is much more that a little SCIAC rep going on in the top 50... CMS accounts for 3 of them, Pomona for 1, and Cal Tech (no football team) the other.

I was surprised to see Redlands ranked higher than Oxy ... The NWC (with football teams) had some good representation fairly high on the list as well.

The costs are getting rediculous... not too long ago that $30k a year was high.
