CLU and Coach Mac were featured on AM 570's Petros and Money Show again... "Punch Redlands in the NECK!!!"

Coach Mac gave D3football.com a nice shout out as well:

POV, yep. As the awakened OxyBob will again testify I could not have been in a better position to make the call.
Now, PC, is busy, let's not make him go back a hundred pages to prove we did this all before.

Just wondering......
How will a CLU home game UNDER THE LIGHTS affect their home field advantage?
I still believe this game belongs at the end of the season. I have respect for both teams and their programs.

As far as I can remember the game has always been played around this time.  Too bad Pat Coleman and company don't have the resources to do a college gameday deal at the D3 level.  This would be a great one to be at.

Hell of a comeback by Cal Lu tonight. Redlands played a perfect first half and so did Cal Lu in the second. Both teams played with a lot of guts and that's to be commended.

It sucks that the SCIAC can't get two teams in the playoffs because Redlands has an outstanding team. Of course they need to win out and even if that happens history says it's not happening. If they do it's time for the NCAA to do the right thing and give the SCIAC a chance. Go Dawgs!

After a poor first half, Chapman came out strong in the second half to post a 45-35 win.
Pomona has a running back, #33 Luke Sweeny, that accounts for the SUPER MAJORITY of Pomona yardage gained. In the first half, his running yardage was more than CU's total (rushing and passing) yardage. It seemed that every play was a lateral to Sweeny for a major gain, after being hit by several CU defensive players, or a fake handoff to him, then a pass to him in the flat, or a fake to him and a pass to someone else.

Pomona may not win many games this year, but they will give everyone a run for their money.
They don't give up or quit when things are going not so well for them. I have always respected them for that.

It was a tough loss.  CAL LU Played crappy the 1st half and we played crappy the last 1/2.  The new stadium was nice (although not enough room for the Cal Lu Fan base to sit....a lot of standing room only overflow)!  The loss would have been easier to swallow if we had played our best, or even "played at all" the second 1/2........it was like watching an entirely different team after the half.  So sad to feel like the season is already over after the first conference game.......(totally wrong attitude I know) but usually we don't play Cal Lu until nearer the end of the season...........Congratulations on a great come back and winning your first game in the new stadium!

Redlands has a huge in-region win. I would say they have a very good chance of getting in, if they win out.

Will not be surprised if the "shoes" change hands. GO POETS !!!

. . . not this year.  Offense is starting to click and show more balance.  Still need to control the unforced errors.  Was really impressed with the way the team maintained their composure during some wild momentum swings in the 3rd Quarter while the game was still undecided.  Here is link to the pics:http://gallery.me.com/aybates#100368

As usual, thanks for the pictures. Just curious -- when did Whittier change its colors?

Interesting that Cal Lu, CMS and Chapman all had to come back late in the 4th to win.

Saw both the CMS and the Pomona games. CMS game marred by two very serious injuries, both of which resulted in long interruptions (15+ minutes). As a result, the first half--which played more like 3 discrete halves due to the delays--ran to nearly 2 hours, and neither team could really find a groove. Overall, Stags have improved ball security dramatically from their LC/Pacific efforts, but inopportune penalties and poor execution brought them to a halt in the red zone, with a conversion rate of 1 TD in 6 trips. Solid FG kicking (4/5) and timely defense won the game.  Over at Pomona, the Sagehens started lightning fast. Chapman had no answer to PPs tailback, Sweeney, who ate up generous chunks on runs to all points on the line. Pomonites led 28-14 at half, but you could feel the momentum shift when Chapman converted a 4th down from Pomona 30-ish for a TD to a wide-open slot receiver. Score closed to 28-28 after 3, while Chapman used a solid passing attack (including a 70-yard TD on a 2d-and-24 in the third) and terrific return-team play to put Sagehens on their heels throughout the second half.  Pomona is plucky, and Sweeney is probably the top back in the SCIAC, but they just ran out of gas.

I think the proper question is who did'nt change to black home unis?  From recent pics, both Cal Lu and La Verne did as well.  You can see Cal Lu's on d3football's home page and here is La Verne's: http://www.leopardathletics.com/sports/fball/2011-12/Releases/10-1-1_cms
