Watching CLU put up a real strong effort at Lindfield in 3rd quarter.

Sorry to see Dawgs come up short, but at least the score wasn't anywhere near as bad as Pat Coleman had predicted. Looking forward to our 2012 season already! 8-)

Congrats to CLU on a good season and a great game today.  This CAT fan had his heart thumping down to the wire--wasn't sure we would hold on but our special teams did it as they have all year.  See you guys next season (I think Cats are headed down to Thousand Oaks again).
Go Cats!

A congrats to CLU from me on a great season. The Kingsmen are an excellent team. I can finally breath again.

Cal-Lu was snakebit in the final minutes with the game apparently in their grasp--- the penalty inside Lindfield's 10 yard line and then the blocked field goal.

The Kingsmen dominated the 4th quarter, so I reckon they were a lock to win it in overtime.

Jake Laudenslayer was clearly the MVP today and emphatically confirmed my call for him to win SCIAC Player of Year.

Well done Kingsmen and Dawgs today and congrats to both teams for a brilliant 2011 season.

I have never seen so many holding penalties called on a single team in such a short span of time, in all my time in this game.

Fun game to watch. Good luck to Linfield, hope you rep the West Coast well.

Two SCIAC losses in the 1st round doesn't help in getting more then one team selected in the future... Good effort but tough to go out like that on a blocked kick.

3 missed field goals and one shoelace tackle on Mosier's long run to start the second half made all the difference.

Would you stop with that 'brilliant' description? 'Heroic', maybe.
Brilliant is what Whitewater and Mount Union have done the last 6 years.

LINFIELD Coach Smith:

Quote"There are some easy games in the playoffs, just not for Linfield because of the way geographically it measures out," Smith said, citing having to play the No. 8-ranked team in the nation (D3football.com poll) in the first round.

The solutes played like the #8 team. Well done.

I've been around football for a mighty long time and I can't remember two Hail Mary plays in one game: Cal Lu did it by pass at the half, Linfield did it by prayer at the end.

Today's game was type of game most of us surmised, and it exceeded our expectations.

Good job Cats. Good job solutes.

I would say the Field Judge deciding to casually throw some laundry for a mysterious holding call when CLU was rolling and would have been set up on the 5 yard line was a big play as well.  Possible win and at least a better shot at a fg.  Talking to several fans who were their the CLU staff and offensive line were in disbelief about the call.  All in all it doesn't come down to just that call but that was one I thought should be thrown in as a big play.

Great season to CLU and its seniors!!! As many Cat fans are claiming, CLU probably deserved a little better draw this year, however we know we would end up there at some point.

Watching the Redlands game today as well it appeared they were way outmatched by the run game of UMHB.  Would have been fun to see the first round match up of CLU and Redlands.  Probably be along time before both teams make it again...if ever.

Best of luck to the Cats

You understand that in order to stop that dynamic three man rush the solute O just felt they HAD to hold, right?

What a game...I was on the edge of my seat the whole time....Kingsman are a great team. Would beat most teams in the field. Too bad they didn't send Kingsman to UMHB to knock them off or give them a home game.

The trip to Texas was well worth it even though we weren't on the winning side of the scoreboard!  Great turnout by the Redlands fans as usual!  Always sad to see the Seniors play their last game, glad they got to experience the playoffs.  Best part of the day........I got to meet Grey Fox in person!  Thank you for the Texas hospitality and hopefully our young players (and coaches) will have grown from this experience and be back in the playoffs next year.   :)

Listened to the Cal Lu/Linfield game on my ride back to the hotel.  WOW, what an exciting game and we DAWGS know how it feels to lose a game at the end via a BLOCKED FIELD GOAL KICK!   >:(

Safe travels to everyone and enjoy your upcoming Holidays..............Guess we'll all meet up again next fall!

Holding could be called on every play in reality.  This one just didn't seem like the right call obviously as a CLU fan.  There were many other big plays that changed the game but this was clearly a big call, by the reaction of the CLU staff and players it seemed to be a Phantom call.  The ref had his head turned the other way and then just casually threw the flag out.  Tough call to swallow as a Kingsmen.

Best of luck though, represent the west well!

Linfield coaches/players no doubt might gripe about a few penalties that went big in favor of CLU.....

Karma is a strange strange thing.   Redlands/Cal Lu game .......Cal Lu had one player (who I will not mention) that was literally hanging on our guy during the last drive and the REF WOULD NOT LOOK AT HIM and make the holding call............. even after our coaching staff went crazy the ref purposely looked down the line even though the guy was standing right IN FRONT OF HIM.  Cal Lu scored and won the game so what goes around eventually comes around!  We were all pulling for you guys to get a "W" for the SCIAC.....Sounded like a great game and you gave them a run for their money........we'll see you in Redlands next year!  Go DAWGS!
