Thanks to everyone here for a very enjoyable SCIAC Board---I gained a lot of interesting information, not to mention plenty of good laughs.

Looking forward heaps to seeing the Dawgs' battles against Cal-Lu, Oxy, CMS and CU being played at Redlands. All the best until next September.

Best part of the day........I got to meet Grey Fox in person!
Some people go to great lengths for a +k. :)

I really enjoyed meeting all of the parents.  Too bad the day ended with a loss.

I believe the refs were from the WIAC.  I would be curious on their take on whether UMHB or UWW is the better team.

You understand that in order to stop that dynamic three man rush the solute O just felt they HAD to hold, right?

Holding could be called on every play in reality.  This one just didn't seem like the right call obviously as a CLU fan.  There were many other big plays that changed the game but this was clearly a big call, by the reaction of the CLU staff and players it seemed to be a Phantom call.  The ref had his head turned the other way and then just casually threw the flag out.  Tough call to swallow as a Kingsmen.

Best of luck though, represent the west well!
Linfield coaches/players no doubt might gripe about a few penalties that went big in favor of CLU.....

Maybe it was a makeup call for that PI on linfield in the end zone earlier in the game. Can't rely on the refs when the game is on the line, just have to make it happen.

SCIAC suggestion....suggest not to refer to your team as the greatest in school history until they bring home the Walnut and Bronze.

Settle down Dens....Every team has a greatest team in their school history...not every team has Walnut and Bronze trophy.  This was the best CLU team I've seen (of course I've only watched them for 3 years).

CLU were once NAIA National Champs.  That actually attracted enough students to keep the new school from going broke.  That would be my vote for best in history. ;)

First of all congrats to Linfield on game well played and good luck in the next round.  Now on to jdb... Crying is a strange thing. The refs are well qualified to call a holding penalty when warranted and not call it unnecessarily, even if some spectator (who I will not mention) blogs a self embarrassing whiny inference about karma, a piggy-back ride and crazy coaches.  Our boys play like a team, win as a team and on occasion lose as a team.  Tonight's loss was heartbreaking but both teams played great and the Kingsmen did the SCIAC proud. Although, no loss is easy but a 21 point loss would have made it much harder.  I wonder if karma will rear its ugly head and strike out against UMHB's victory over the Dawgs or offer a simple congratulation.

Well stated Dino.  cLU has nothing to hang their heads about. They are a great team that has
unfortunately drawn what I think is an unfair playoff draw this year. They gave us all we could handle and fortunately we came away one hand length ahead.

now jdb its my turn, get over yourself, holding happens on every play because the line is at a huge disadvantage.if you are still crying about week 3 get over it. redlands true colors came out in the weeks to follow and in the playoffs.the dawgs got into the playoffs fell way short and hopefully can reload for next year.(i hope you get over the holding stuff and learn football)CLU will be ready to take victory for year 4.congrats to the cats in victory ,this was one heck of a game and the catdome mystique continues. make the west coast proud and bring one home we are pulling for you.

Bubs thank you,i swear i thought the ncaa would have never schedule these teams 3 years in a row they both deserve much better.but if we have to lose in the first round linfield is the team(total class program and tough as nails)

First of all props to your boys, that was one heck of a game today.  Well played on both sides.  Both had new wrinkles in play, it all was left out there.  Once he settled down, your QB played the game of his life.  There were salty calls on both sides of the ball,  both teams played through them.  This match up should have been a regional final.

I agree with most others that you guys got hosed by not hosting a first round game.  Enjoyed the back and forth (again)

Peace Out

Response in your email!  Don't like to talk trash on the boards. I don't want to ruin my reputation lol!!!

Would you stop with that 'brilliant' description? 'Heroic', maybe.
Brilliant is what Whitewater and Mount Union have done the last 6 years.

That 1971 NAIA CHAMPIONSHIP team must be the greatest CalLu team. They got in to the playoffs with a loss and won. You think the NCAA is hard to figure, the NAIA selection committee was bonkers.
