Now look stoonk....I'm personally fetching one of the LINFIELD basketball greats from the'60s and driving him to 1000 Oaks. We'll be in Reno the previous two nights. So, I'm going to need your luxury box and,oh yeah, the golf cart, to impress my guest. He'll be content with just another win, but we be stylin' in your presence.

Now Look D.O.C.----  the brand spanking new William Rolland Stadium does not have "luxury boxes" and you do not need a golf cart! Arrive early like 10 am for the 12:30 kickoff and get a choice parking spot free near the Olympic swimming pool by Gilbert Fitness Center. Then just go west and walk 3 minutes   into the stadium free and pick up free programs and you can roam the Linfield sidelines just like you did in OLD Mount  Clef Stadium with Oxy Bob several years ago. .See you soon D.O.C. I THINK you will like the new nine million dollar facility.Great new  field turf and a fabulous sunset on the pacific ocean during night games.More improvements forthcoming on the visitors side when enough money is raised !

You are one tough negotiator, stoonk.
Ok, love roaming the sidelines. Just the golf cart then. Walk three minutes?

Andy Collins put the SCIAC on the West Coast Map. RIP.

Fear the Poet

I know everyone has been anxiously awaiting a Poet update :)

The Poets had a spirited intrasquad scrimmage on Sunday and the team has much more talent than Im used to seeing from our previous years of watching our beloved Poets. Im still learning names, but the QB looks very good and we seem to have speed in the skill positions. The defense was aggressive and hard hitting.

I was encouraged by what I saw. The team played with high motors and the coaches seem to be on the ball.

Im hopeful that this season will be the beginning of building the program back to a respectful level. Cant wait for the 8th!!

Go Poets!!

If anyone is interested we are raising money to fund the number retirement of Andy Collins. The money will go to funding travel arrangements for his family and for the ceremony. We appreciate any and all support. Good luck to everyone this season.

After making the jump from NAIA to D2, Azusa Pacific dropped its first game to UC Davis by a score of 3-41.
No SCIAC teams on the schedule this year. It will be interesting to see how the rest of their season goes.

Any CMS followers catch the Chapman-CMS scrimmage today? I was out of town.

WCAlum17

After playing at Whittier for 4 years and being a GA for 2 I can say after seeing the scrimmage that the Poets look better than ever.  I'm going to give some SCIAC predictions for the upcoming season:
1. Cal LU (Not a fan but they are damn good)
2. Redlands (They will get crushed on the road at NC but will recover)
3. Whittier (If all stay healthy, they may have the most productive offense in the SCIAC)
4. Oxy (They will struggle in the new era but cant be worse then the rest)
5. Chapman (First year in and will do ok)
6. CMS (Just don't have the athletes)
7. La Verne (No discipline in the tough times)
8. Pomona Pitzer (If Luke had a soul to block for him they may have a chance... but they don't)

This is my first post so hope all are entertained.

4. Oxy (They will struggle in the new era but cant be worse then the rest)

Than not then. The mark of a Whittier education.

Today's quiz: Which SCIAC football team has only 20 wins in the last 10 years, and hasn't had a winning season since 1998?
