Does CLU have the same qb they had last year?......I remember that guy was big and hard to take down. Looking forward to the game this weekend. Should be a challenge for both teams!

Nope.  Here's a preview...  http://www.clusports.com/news/8919/
Thanks madzillagd.....I find this interesting from the preview:
QuoteThey will open holes for freshman tailback Romello Goodman, the 2011 top high school rusher in California.
Wouldn't the #1 high school rusher in CA be like a 5 star PAC 12 recruit? What's that?
Not necearrily Bluenote. A few years ago the high school where I teach had one of the top passers (yardage and TDs) in the nation. He's not playing anywhere.

Pretty sure the leading rusher in WA most years is an 8-man player...doesn't mean much

Romello Goodman is from Corona Centennial H.S. a perennial CIF Southern Section powerhouse in Southern California.  At 5'5' 165lbs D1 doesn't like the size but he is an outstanding back and Linfield and the SCIAC will have their hands full.  I wouldn't want any other back in the SCIAC over this guy.  Leading H.S. rusher out of Corona Centennial is a big deal let alone the entire state.

Well I think the best back in Oregon is going to Oregon and he's a 5 star. But who knows how good he'll be.

Oregon and Oregon State have both had success with guys that were too small...not like you're playing against Jacquizz Rodgers on Saturday. Try again.

Well it took like 7 guys to bring down HSU running back #23. I'm figuring this #1 guy from Cali -forn - ia will take 8-9 guys.

That's the unfortunate part of the NESCAC not participating in the football postseason because it would be interesting to see if they would dominate as they do other sports further proving it doesn't have to be one or the other.

After following the discussions on NESCAC board, it seems to me that the NESCAC would not dominate in football.   The administration and the faculties of most if not all of the schools are strongly against such participation--the conference has a 75-player limit for each team and an eight game limit in a 10-team conference.  The faculties and administrators apparently believe that emphasizing football would take resources from academic pursuits and force them to lower their academic standards by admitting undeserving football players.  While some of the teams might have players who could play at a D-I level, their numbers would probably be insufficient to make such a team truly competitive in the post-season.  The faculty and administrations would see to that.

Bluenote, look up the kids stats last year they are insane. corona football is big time cali football but the kid is 5'5 165. his brother goes to clu ,so when no d-1 offers came i would guess clu was next in line,i for one couldnt be happier ,this kid will be REALLY good by the time his career is over assuming he stays healthy.

There was even some talk on the NESCAC board that some of the administrations are gradually depriving their football programs of resources so that the programs will eventually disappear.

It's definitely a different world which is why I don't see it happening anytime soon but I'm sure that's what everyone said 20 years ago before they finally allowed the other teams to compete in the postseason.  But football and it's costs are a whole different beast so it's a bigger mountain to move.

Lets try to avoid converting the Cal Lu, Oxy, Whittier, Redlands board into a NESCAC board please.
Thanks yall
