"1)  509Rat is a Whitworth fan (again).  2)  What the heck is the point of that video you linked?"

2) Did you watch it? I understand that comparison often requires an act of imagination that probably leaves your gears grinding, but (listen closely now) the tackle was exactly the same tackle that the Oxy players executed. The point--and since generalization is a higher-order process, I'll help you out--is that the difference between hitting and tackling is part of the football vernacular in 2012, and making a joke of Oxy's defense because they display it is bush.
Did you watch it?  I clicked your link (http://youtu.be/xhHufV9g4k4. ) and got a video of dancing Navy men....so I ask again, what's the point of it?  Before you go insulting people's intelligence, maybe you should check your own posts for accuracy, because you recieve an "F" on this one (unless you are somehow comparing that clip to Oxy's tackling--which I really don't get).   As for my reference to 509Rat--you've twice now responded to his comments with jabs against Linfield so I thought (perhaps mistakenly) that you had missed the previous post that pointed this out.
Go Cats!

Yeah, Linfield did lose that game to Wesley and it stung.  I'm sure being a fan of CMS that you became numb to that losing sensation years ago.

Clever.  I bet you'd enjoy a piece that Michael Weinreb published on Grantland the other day: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/8391106/lane-kiffin-usc-was-supposed-challenge-national-title-season-ran-stanford-again. Focus on this statement:  "these highbrow institutions [he's talking about Northwestern and Vandy, but feel free to substitute 'Pomona' and 'Claremont McKenna') are thrown into the mix to balance the equation, to lend some credibility to the otherwise irredeemable exercise in hypocrisy we like to call college football."

Thanks for the link.  However my focus went to this passage: Every time Stanford beats USC, it feels like something of a surprise, a jolt to the skeletal structure of both the Pac-12 and to the hierarchy of college football itself.

I would say to feel free to substitute "Claremont McKenna" with Stanford, "CLU" with USC, and "SCAIC" with Pac-12 but that would be beyond reason or any possible chance of happening.

Crash,
First we need to determine which games on Chapman's schedule would they be "underdogs".
I think that we will know more about Chapman's team after this weekend's game up at Whitworth
in Spokane.
The offense looked good against a weaker PS team, but on the other hand, CU's starting QB only had less than a week to prepare due to the injury of the projected starter.
If they can keep the penalties down, eliminate turnovers and get the blocking from the line it had in the opener, they should do alright.
Cal Lu and Redlands, on paper at least, should dominate most SCIAC teams, though.
We will just have to wait and see.

Plus K Good to see you posting again. I was feeling lonely! :-)

Need proof?  Check out this clip at 1:24--and these guys are in a different universe, talentwise, coaching-wise, and every other wise: http://youtu.be/xhHufV9g4k4.

What's with the video? You hit ctrl-V only to realize the last thing you had copied was a bunch of Navy boys prancing around the academy in uniform?

Don't worry, I get it...

Does Chapman upset anyone in SCIAC in their 1st year?

With the way things have started this year, not sure you could call a victory over anyone but CLU an upset.  Even Redlands is likely to be 2-3 by the time they get to the Chapman game so can you still call it an upset if Chapman wins?

Safe travels and good luck. If your pass defense is working, you guys should come home with a big W!!!

Well doesn't look like the world is gonna implode any time soon.  Whittier's freshman Rivera looked like a seasoned vet steppin in for Lopez.  Puget Sound just did not have the athletes to compete with Whittier for more than a quarter.  Whittier is going to have a good test in Chapman this week.  Whittier seeks revenge and gets the "W" by a score of 38-31. Lopez should be back but if not, no worries.  Hope the Pacific Northwest was a blast FTP. Won't be at the game due to the "Light the Night" walk at Angel Stadium.

haha

big game vs Chapman this weekend. I think this game will tell us who is number three in the sciac at this point. Fun times in Tacoma this weekend. The Poets offense is incredible and we did it with 18 penalties. If they can straighten that out, I think the Poets will give a game to anyone. Time will tell

Looks like former Arroyo standout Rivera did real good. He wanted the opportunity to continue his quarterbacking and he gets the opportunity to do just that.
