Hey- I heard that Linfield just took a couple major injuries. I hope that their players are back soon. I hate seeing injuries.

That's true and feel terrible for those guys but that's part of the game.  Linfield can't replace what Steele and Hill brought to the table but i think Linfield will find a way to adjust and keep growing as a team.  the NWC title race is awesome this season and i'm looking forward to seeing if the 'Cats can pull it off.

Oxy 34 Claremont 21

Oxy got its first win of the season. Claremont led 14-6 at halftime. After Oxy took the lead, the Stags tied it up 21-21 at the start of the 4th quarter. On the first play after the CMS kickoff, Tommy Edwards went 73 yds to Ryan Rodriguez and the Tigers had a 28-21 lead. Later with about 6:30 left, Edwards fumbled at the Claremont 1 but Casey Dudley recovered and ran it in for the final score.

For Oxy, Edwards was 24-for-34 for 387 yds and 4 TDs. Three Oxy receivers had more than 100 yds -- Rodriguez 6 for 128 yds and 2 TDs, Sam Stekol 7 for 125 yds, and Matthew Tuckness 8 for 114 yds and 2 TDs. The Tigers' running game continued to be nonexistent -- 24 net yds.

For Claremont, Peter Kimmey was 14-for-24 for 165 yds passing, Corey Bickler rushed 25 times for 105 yds and a TD, and Cameron Griffin rushed 7 times for 49 yds and 2 TDs.

Oxy is 1-3, Claremont is 0-4.

Before the game, Andy Collins' No. 1 jersey was retired.

Well Whittier is #2 in the nation in total offense at 566 yds a game.  Once the D shores things up should be an interesting year.  Should be an easy victory this Sat against the Leos.  Hope the Defense will gain some confidence in the next weeks before Whittier welcome CLu for Homecoming.
Chapman looked impressive in their inaugural SCIAC opener.

Baby steps.  Start with the "easy victories" and go from there.  I think the SCIAC is a 1-team race from here out.

CLU needs to really shore up the D. I really dont know if we have the horses to get a whole lot better. Offense is fine ,alot of weapons but i think Ramay may be done for the year. The dawgs qb is tough ,a very physical runner who tore CLU up again this year.Redlands is much better than this years record shows although D not nearly as goog as in the past.To RFb if i was a recruit and had to choose Malibu and the west side or san bernardino and redlands the choice would be pretty easy ;)

I had that injury before although not as bad as his is supposed to be. I got 4 weeks in a cast with a promise of screws if it didnt heal up. Report I just got is he is might be back for the playoffs. He showed up to the trainers with xrays today. QBs all move up one slot so Mr. Shultis starts and does PATS.

That QB keeper was really ripping us up in the 2nd half. Fortunately, our offense was able to keep pace. When it got down to that margin of two, I was wondering if the table wasn't turning from last year and the Bulldogs were going to come back.  Hard to say what the defense is going to do. We got good players. They made good plays. There are several games ahead to work on the defense.

I know our guys want a 14 game season. That means 10 more games to go!!!!

D will make adjustment, there are some dings also for them, glad to hear Ramay may be back should we make playoffs but i have full confidence in Shultis ,he looked  very good last night and throws a great deep ball .CLU wil get ready for CMs this week and look past no one.Great chance for a youngster to step up and earn a spot.

Yep- those freshmen will be looking for that opportunity. Today's clipboard carrier is tomorrow's starter. . . . . . . . . .
