OxyBob:

If you plan on following your Tigers down past the Orange Curtain Saturday night for their annual non-conference game against Chapman's Panthers, the offer for a VIP Tour and some food and beverage is still open. Just email or give me a
call and let me know the time.

Glad Oxy is no longer winless and I hope all SCIAC teams get at least 1 win this year. The young men work too hard to go winless.

Cheers!

Cngrats to Oxy on their win,you now have the same record as whittier.

  • CLU / Redlands: (5 years in a row.......... OUCH) best feeling ever to win against your rival at the Runner so congrats to the CLU players and coaches. How will we keep winning with injuries, defensive "struggles" (over exaggerated in my opinion), etc.? MORE ROGERS ... Guys go to CLU over REDLANDS because: Better location, better coaches, better facilities, better women, better players, better jerseys (this is more prevalent than you old guys think), and a 5-0 record in the last 5 years. Dreams aren't sold, if you are good enough to play right away you will and kids respect that mentality.

  • Whittier: ...................... La Verne.................... COME ONNNNNN MANNNN!

  • Oxy: Very cool that Collins was honored at the game, and that OXY got the win on that day. Wasn't too long ago that OXY was running the SCIAC and Collin's was largely responsible for that stretch of dominance. Glad I never played Defense.

Andy Collins was terrific and a tragedy, K4.
You have much in common with his past....neither one of you could win in McMinnville.
RIP
Glad I took time to shake his hand after that brief thunderstorm field goal.

...and if you're not good enough we'll just replace you with a one and done transfer.

HI-YO!

Are you talking about the game at C-LU in 2008? That was Justin Goltz, not Andy Collins.

Must have been the short kick then. We were both there.

K-4,i dont know if you went to the redlands game but the run defense  had fits, also had problems against the cats.I think down the road this could  pose problems.E -Rod is awesome but he is also dinged up , if he was to go down the offense would change alot.running game i think is really coming around ,so offense for now is more than good.I am just comparing this years D to the past few years(we really had some good defenses). I just hope we start playing some better run D then i could smile alot more :)

I think you're talking about the 2006 game where C-LU led 24-7. Collins brought Oxy back to lead 28-27, and C-LU barely missed the 59-yard FG on the last play.

Fortunately,  we have time to work on shoring up that run D. I dont know whether they were just more concerned on stopping the pass or were just ineffective on shutting down the run, on the qb carries. The D knows which it is. I am sure that the film discussions will be dealing with that

wildozer,is your son the new #2 qb?

Apparently, he is. #12. He got to hold the clipboard last game against Redlands and did a stellar job. He also got some playing time and did the last drive against PP the week before. However, as a caveat, that decision is a coaching decision.  If he moves up, then the ten years of driving wase worth it!! He loves football more than well uh Halo III

Damn shame that Ramay worked so hard and had such an inspiring camp and broke that thumb. Hope he can come back to finish this senior year in the playoffs.

Well another week in D3 football has passed... La Vernes front 4 were the difference in the game. Very good against the run which forced Whittier to throw alot more than they wanted to.  Not going to make any predictions the rest of the season as I seem to either Jinx the Poets or just be wrong.  Any ways... PP this week. Good luck to all but OXY... Hope CU hangs 50 on ya... Great to see those pics OxyBob.  Collins will be missed. Great Cat!!
