He can learn the offense from the seniors and be ready to take the helm next year.

...or be ready to backup the next Jake Laudenslayer that CLU brings in.   ;)

I don't think anybody is "so down" on the concept of transfers.  I'm not at all.  I was just giving K4 a little of bit of a hard time in the name of good fun.

cludad

I dont know about backing up, this kid looks like he can play and had some pretty good stats in highschool .Hopefully CLU can get some big early leads over the next few weeks to get him and some others p.t.

One thing I'll say about CLU is that I think the football team is really just a reflection of the school itself when it comes to transfers.  It's been 20 years but I remember when I was there we always had a high number of transfers in general on the campus, not just athletes.  I think it's just the location of the school, types of programs they offer and high acceptance rate makes it a popular destination for transfers.

Maybe he should change his name to Jake ;). He can back up himself :D

  • CLU / Redlands: (5 years in a row.......... OUCH) best feeling ever to win against your rival at the Runner so congrats to the CLU players and coaches. How will we keep winning with injuries, defensive "struggles" (over exaggerated in my opinion), etc.? MORE ROGERS ... Guys go to CLU over REDLANDS because: Better location, better coaches, better facilities, better women, better players, better jerseys (this is more prevalent than you old guys think), and a 5-0 record in the last 5 years. Dreams aren't sold, if you are good enough to play right away you will and kids respect that mentality.

  • Whittier: ...................... La Verne.................... COME ONNNNNN MANNNN!

  • Oxy: Very cool that Collins was honored at the game, and that OXY got the win on that day. Wasn't too long ago that OXY was running the SCIAC and Collin's was largely responsible for that stretch of dominance. Glad I never played Defense.

Comparison:
Location: Not going to argue here
Coaches: Not even maybe, Lets see how Coach Mac's record looks after 20+ years
Facilities: Laughable at best, football stadiums need more than just field turf and a bad design, it's called character
Women: Back when I was at Redlands you could count the hot chicks on one hand, looks like we got a new admissions director about 10 years ago, things have certainly changed, give that person a raise.
Players: That ebbs and flows, Redlands killed it in the 90's, Oxy in the 00's, and now it's Cal Who's time. Lets just hope the that Whitter isn't running it in 10 years from now, nahh... that won't happen, Whittier will still be Sh*ttier.
Jerseys: Enjoy those ugly black jerseys, your best look was the white helmets/purple jerseys/white pants, but I understand why you abandoned that look, no need to get arrested for fraud by detectives from McMinville.
Dreams: My last game brought the title back home to Redlands, it's great to go out a champion!

Rfb, the sod at the runner was aweful, that field was tore up it looked like the last game of a triple header, give me Clus bad design and air i cant see any day.As far as coaching ,guess we will have to wait 20 years but hes off to one hell of a start.

I grew up in farm country and the "runners" turf reminds me of the cow patch back home.  Not saying the stadium isn't nice but not the jewel of the SCIAC... Chapman owns that title. Hands down.

BS... Redlands has a great grounds team and Ted Runner has been renowned year in and out for having a great, natural grass field that plays really fast. I played for four years on it and it was the best I ever played on. Let's not get started on Whittier's joke of a stadium.

cludad

did you go to the game last sat., the field was terrible.Mabye they had a motorcross race on it  the night before ? :o

Lets have a vote.
Rate your SCIAC stadiums based on overall appearance, performance and atmosphere:
1. Chapman
2. CLU
3. Whittier
4. Oxy
5. Redlands
6. CMS
7. Old La Verne
8. Pitzer

By joke do u mean turf field, stadium seating for 500, seats 7,000, state of the art pressbox. CLUs Mt. Clef year after year had the best grass to play on august through november. Redlands the best in August.

cludad

WCalum, we finally agree on something.... welcome aboard ;D. you are spot on.

Maybe you can upgrade the program from joke status? Doubtful...

I base my opinion on 20 years, not one night.
