Last year Oxy played Menlo.
Will they play them again or who will replace them on the schedule?

Austin is a little over an hour from me, but it will be an Oxy home game on Sept 21. - per AC football site.

This has been fun.

Oxy's longtime OC and DC were let go. Isn't that fun?

One day I hope to live the same Bohemia-n lifestyle as Oxy's new coach.

I heard the finalists were two coaches on staff, a GA from USC, and Semones. Also, in 2012, Semones was a high school assistant.
The AD obviously wants to clean house.  Kind of like a lion kills all the cubs when he takes over a pride.
A GA from USC would have been a real joke.  I wonder who missed the cut before the finals. :-X

Yes, a high school assistant coach was definitely the better choice.

Obviously that was a one-year thing, to stay local in New Haven and keep his feet in the pool.

wow..the new Oxy coach appears to be Van Wilder..very funny stuff

on a side note, Little Ricky has been accepted in the Graduate Assitant program at Whittier and for the next two years will coach track and field and get his teaching credential and Masters degree FREE of charge :)

Lucy and I are very proud of how he righted his ship. Life is good

Great.  That is a really good D3 success story. :)

I think the resume offers some concerns.  He was a DC for a few years at a H.S. in Idaho before getting the job at Yale.  The IPFL Hawaii Hammerheads and AFL 2 Hawaii Islanders additions on the resume really aren't that awe inspiring.
I also think that it is interesting that he started coaching at Crespi in the mid 80s.  This is the same time that the head coach at Crespi was Bill Redell.

We have a lot of past experience with Crespi on this message board.

Look this guy might wind up being a great choice.  I like the fact that he is a defensive guy.  However, I think many people (especially the alumni) are concerned about how "extensive" this search really was.
He will get a chance, but those of us who were a part of the program, who know the very controversial way Widolff was fired, and dealt with the joke of a hire that Redell was have every right to be skeptical practices in the Athletic Department
