I sincerely apologize for editing my post and then not spell checking prior to finalizing my post, leaving "school's" possessive. I would be more than happie to eddit my originol post if it would please the "grammer" poleece?

Again, I was way out of line with my interwebz etiquette...or lack thereof. I consult for a medical device company and can send you a sample if you'd like. A mea culpa, if you will.

Wow, what a stroke of luck for you. An endoscope must come in handy when you're taking a selfie.

Ah, yes, another proud moment for Oxy:

Sexual assault policies under fire at Occidental College
http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-sexual-assault-policies-under-fire-at-occidental-college-20130418,0,5682199.story

The story doesn't even mention the scandal with Oxy's former athletic trainer John Sweet.

EDIT: Two more stories, one from KTLA Channel 5 and another from the New York Times:

Lawsuit: Occidental College Failed to Protect Women From Sexual Assault

From the Orange County Register:

QuoteCosta Mesa's Williams takes college recruitment into own hands

...
Williams is a senior at Costa Mesa High School. He played defensive back for the Mustangs' football team during much of his high school career. At 5-foot-9 and 155 pounds, Williams is on the small side.
...
Williams followed in the footsteps of nearly every high school football player looking to be recruited by creating a highlight reel for college coaches to examine. A popular website called hudl.com allows for amateur athletes to upload videos for college recruiters to see.

After creating the highlight reel, Williams began to create contacts. University of La Verne football Coach Chris Krich topped Williams' list.
...
At the conclusion of the season, Williams was named to the All-Orange Coast League Second Team. He believes he belongs on the first team. But more important to him is the idea that a Second Team selection will not be his final football accomplishment.

Williams will graduate from Costa Mesa High this spring and begin at La Verne in the fall. He will be on a partial scholarship.

I love reporters who haven't a clue that D-III doesn't give out scholarships.

dahlby

D3 does give out scholarships for academic and/or need based, and that is probably what the student is
receiving, although the writer was not clear and did leave room for some to pick at the article.

No, really? D-III schools provide financial aid to students? I never knew that. My, aren't you a fountain of the obvious.

CLU picked up a sizeable lad.

From the Modesto Bee:

QuoteJustin Gilbert, the 6-foot, 4-inch, 270-pound anchor of last fall's Enochs High offensive line, will attend Cal Lutheran of Thousand Oaks this fall. Gilbert was an all-district pick after his senior season, during which he moved from tackle to guard as the Eagles switched from the pro-set to the Veer.

OB,
Your response should have been  " ........a clue that D-III doesn't give out (athletic) scholarships. You made the same mistake as the writer, who, for all you know, could have been refering to academic aid, unless of course, you have communicated directly with the writer. Unusual mistake for the critic master on this board. Cheers!

From the Dallas Morning News:

QuoteAdd three more names to the list of undrafted free agents whom have agreed to terms with the Dallas Cowboys.

A pair of Clemson players — kicker Spencer Benton and cornerback Xavier Brewer — and West Alabama linebacker Deon Lacey have also agreed to terms with the Cowboys, giving them 15 undrafted free agent signings now.

Among the Cowboys' 15 undrafted free agents, none of them are offensive or defensive linemen. And the Cowboys used only one of their seven draft picks this year on an offensive or defensive lineman.
...
Others who have agreed to terms with the Cowboys: Mississippi State linebacker Cameron Lawrence, Eastern Washington wide receiver Greg Herd, Virginia Paul Freedman, Saginaw Valley defensive back Jeff Heath and Cal Lutheran wide receiver Eric Rogers.

Good luck to Mr. Rogers.
