Forbes names Pomona College 2nd best in nation behind Stanford.
Good goin'. Now, just get a little football thing going like Stanford does and you'll be sitting pretty

Malcolm Gladwell wants Stanford to drop football.

The Bulldogs of UR start Sunday, should be interesting to see which QB worked the hardest over the summer? I have not heard a word on how recruiting has gone, will have to walk over and check out a practice.

Coach Mac updated this blog  http://clufootball.tumblr.com/     The :o note: expects 130 players at first practice.

I see where CLU brought in a talented one-n-done(?) QB for this year...made me think of this quick exchange from last season with Wildozer, whose son was a Frosh QB for CLU last season.

He can learn the offense from the seniors and be ready to take the helm next year.

...or be ready to backup the next Jake Laudenslayer that CLU brings in.   ;)

...must have been a lucky guess.   ::)

Hats off to CLU for their tough non-conference schedule. Great to see a team go for it all  !!!

I also see how (and I get that he is probably joking) wishes every team in the SCIAC goes 8-1 with their only loss being to CLU..... ???
Go Cats!

I'm looking forward to this season for the Poets. It will be interesting to see how Coach Stratton builds on last year.

Good luck to all the teams. It would be great to have some more teams step up their level of play to make the conference stronger overall.

Looking forward to Whittier at Chapman this year...it is our homecoming game. Hope to see you!
And yes, I hope more teams do step up their programs to make the conference stronger. Nothing like a game that goes down to the final plays!

I hope to make the game this year. It depends on the UCLA schedule. We have season tickets.

Our youngest is a incoming junior in high school this year so we still have plenty of football to watch, post LR graduation. That and LR is coaching football this year as well. So much football, so little time :)

thanks Dahlby, its always our pleasure to see you

I have picked UR to unseat CLU......but only if they can come up with a QB to replace Hurst and the O line plugs the missing holes by the time Redlands and CLU meet.

Coach Good is an excellant recruiter and a very fine person so exspect picking up some quality players.  I wouldn't be surprised when coach Maynard retires to see Good take over the Helm.

I wish you the very best of seasons

I am hearing some big numbers reported in at UR, over 130+ players, seems like more kids than in the past. Started to watch the boys but it was 101 when they were working out. This old dog needed some shade.

Hope to check out more later in the week.

Swede, I should hope you are profit!

The Ventura County Star Reported yesterday that CLU star running back Romeo, SCIAC Newcomer of the Year...and i can tell you personally a darn good player is sitting out this season due to personal reasons? That is a blow to the program. He was a Terry Metcalf type of player, despite being small he would run hard inside.

Took a peak at UR's first day in pads, I have my fingers crossed but the QB's and O line looked decent.
