Fear the Poet

looks like ill be heading over to chapman to watch the Poets in action. It appears that Chapman is very solid and my Poets have struggled so far. "fingers crossed"

Good luck. :)

Fear the Poet,

Your characterization of this Chapman team as "solid" is spot on from what I saw of their games online.

I've got similar disquiet about UR's game at Oxy since still don't know who our QB is, but as you say, "fingers crossed".

Good luck down there in Orange.

Hemi,

Do not worry about UR they have had some very hard practices, either they will have left it all in practice or Oxy will be receive the wrath of their frustration. They plan on getting after it. The entire team has been challenged to step up.

The QB situation should be interesting. I think who plays against OXY will start against CLU. All three have reasons to play or not play.

Don't worry buddy, UR will be ready, I plan on going, I think the boys will be breathing fire......heard first hand the D played really well at PLU

Take care

 Olddog,

Your assessment of the Bulldogs' preparations for the Oxy game has significantly reduced my anxiety level----it's too bad I've already submitted this week's  "Pick 'em" list to CAWCDAD!

Real glad to hear you'll be taking all that positive mojo along to Jack Kemp Stadium, and I'll look forward your post-game wrap.

All the best, and "Och Tamale", amigo! 8-)

Whittier at Chapman on Saturday is Homecoming. I strongly suggest anyone wanting a seat inside the stadium arrive at least an hour in advance. There are several activities planned.

I looked at a couple of the pros.  They have Chapman by 27 or 30.
May not be the sleeper too much longer.  Good balance among SCIAC leaders.

Gray Fox,

Good call, considering that if Chapman defeats Redlands at home on 10/26, then it's likely they will be playing for the SCIAC title at home against Cal-Lutheran in the final week of conference schedule.

Folks do not get carried away yet....Chapman played PS and Whitworth....not exactly a tough schedule...they wont play anyone noteworthy until they play UR. Last year we all heard the same scenario. Chapman was dominated by UR, if you saw it. Chapman was not in UR's class.
I love the spin by Chapman, we were one win away from being league champ...humorous.

UR defense is better than last year, the offense the first two games against #3 and #10 in the nation has put the defense in ton a short field situations yet they still kept the team in the games. The UR game for Chapman will be a very tough game for Chapman to win....Chapman has injuries too which has effected them on both sides of the ball.

Talk about an Old School attack of  "5 yards and a cloud of dust", I just watched La Verne's victory over CMS-------ULV rushed 66 times and threw only 15 passes.

Two Leopard RB's clocked up more than 100 yards.

CMS's lone TD was a 95 yd fumble return.

28 SCIAC victories in a row for the KINGSMEN. We're the champs until someone beats us. It was great to get in the win column. It's going to be a good one next Saturday night at Rolland Stadium.

 Olddog,

I'm hugely relieved you were spot-on about the Dogs' resolute Dee-line and the strong rushing attack, which racked up 424 yards.

UR's radio commentators were not greatly impressed with Russell, but let's just enjoy being undefeated in SCIAC at this point, right! 8-)

Watched 1st half of game at Chapman. Poets were making a real battle of it until two Six-picks in 2nd Q put them way behind the 8-ball. Chapman QB Lahey had another solid outing. Does anyone know if their All-SCIAC RB, Jeremiah McKibbins, is going to play this year?
