Does anyone know if the SCIAC has a regular crew?

JC crews should be good enough.  There are lots of JC games.  Same rules.

SCIAC pays more and yes there are some JC crews that do not work SCIAC games

Old coach Mac went silent in his blog about UR, normally has a lot to say how he loves this guy and went out with his brother for beer.  .... Looks like he wanted to avoid being cannon fodder.

The game like every other game will be won upfront. Both teams will try to establish the run. Both teams will need to contain the QB. It will come down to who makes the least amount of mistakes and executes better than the past three weeks.
If UR's outside backers and Safeties fill on run, and we cover the tight end, we have a good chance...If not we will loose in any kind of shoot out game. We just do not finish well inside the red zone. Our defense must keep them under 21 points. Tough to see our offense mustering up more than 24 points.

I would say the biggest advantage for UR is their D.  Cal Lu hasn't really stopped anyone yet and if UR can move the ball and score some points, they win.  I don't see Cal Lu's offense being shut down, but I don't see them stopping UR too much.  24-17 UR.

Who? Back to irrevelance you go.

That was flat out pathetic.  UR played well and were 1000X more physical and played like they cared.  Cal Lu played like they sit around and check to see what fluff Mac will write on his blog.  So much crap being slung on that blog and you are right, they are nowhere near relevant in the SCIAC again.  Toot the horn about how many freshman are playing and blah blah blah, but when it comes down to it, Redlands had plenty of young guys playing too, and they were far superior to anyone wearing purple.  At what point does Cal Lu understand how unbelievably awful their defense is?  I really don't get how you can go out and put a defense on the field that has been absolutely crushed 3 of the 4 games they have played this year?  Make some changes, put more on the line, DO SOMETHING other than doing the same thing and getting destroyed on the ground.
This game gets UR on a roll and a return trip to TX since the NCAA will probably send PLU right back to Linfield.

Au contrair...zee Chapman looms.
I also don't think PLU is a given at this point.....1) They could lose to a Whitworth/Willamette/Pacific because their (PLU's D) isn't that great and they like to turn the ball over.....and 2) They could win out and still be left at home in the playoffs--they are not going to have a great SOS with CLU and Trinity as their non-conference games....I think the Chapman/Redlands game could be a good one---I may have to make another Trek to the IE for that one....

i can not wait for Coach Mac's blog and his effort to find a positive. Man what he said in some of his blogs about his young team I did not see last night, maybe one to many margaritas in Baja. They have a long ways to go.

The score of the game was a huge surprise to me, I over estimated CLU. Lets put things in perspective after a couple weeks in conference. Whittier was up on the Regals in the second half and lost last week by 10 to the Regals, CMS beat Whittier by 17 last night and that was on a late score by Whittier at the end of the game, o/w it was a 24 point margin.

The game came down to a few things. UR was ready to play, the Regals we dominated in a very physical manner. The Regal were out hit, and lost the battle up front. The Regals tried to establish the run game early but after a few series realized the UR young D line was getting way too much push, causing the back to jump outside. The O line had it way, UR establish the ground game. Our freshman guard was dominate over their freshman DT. I never heard his name or their stud Monroe name called all night. In the first half we could get 5 yards at will on inside zone. Our QB had a break out game running and throwing. He looked good tonight and Tanquery running the ball was a stud. Trucking Regals all night. On a side note I hope Bobby Browns ankle gets better soon. Another back up coach Mac.

Their were some awesome special teams. The kick off return by a back up returner after our stud Fudge went out with an ankle injury and one of the entertaining punt returns I have seen.

It was a fun win and I do not believe on running the score up, but its clear Cal Who has a was to go, this victory will only help our recruiting versus the Regals. Will coach Mac keep talking about the past. Their O line is soft, and d line is very easy to block, zero punch by their d line. The secondary will continue to haunt Coach Mac. Man they kept running man despite the corners getting torched and when they came up for run sport getting trucked a few times. I don't know what their adjustments were at half time but UR responded, they went to a 40 front and contained the QB better, despite being down to the third string corner due to injuries.
UR also blitzed in the second half. What the Regals adjustment on O or D were i have no idea.

Coach Mac did show class in the loss and checking in on our injured.

CMS beat La Verne last night. Occidental beat Whittier. Whittier has hung with Oxy and CLU and Whitworth. Last night didn't surprise me. CLU lost to a mediocre Willamette team by giving up big plays. UR had a bunch of big plays (20 yards or more). That is the Kingsman defense.  The CLU offense has trouble hanging on to the ball decent teams will capitalize. Willamette lost yesterday to Whitworth who has not been able to stop anyone defensively.

Oxy and Chapman, both 3-1 and 2-0,  meet for the SCIAC lead this weekend.

judging by how the Regals could not run inside, not enough....

I thought this was a pretty well called game, btw...we got holding a few times...This crew actually hustled to get to a spot.
