I will interrupt my regularly scheduled bashing of the defense to say this is pretty cool.

http://clusports.com/news/10956/

Now, back to the defense.....who am I kidding, over 300 yards on the ground to Pomona and Chapman coming to town this weekend, might get ugly early and uglier than the Redlands game.  Chapman is going to come in and smack CLU all over the place and make them remember they are called Chapman.  This is when some of the bulletin board material is going to come back to bite Mac.

Good Point JP. Tough to beat Chapman if the Regals give up 300 on ground.

UR has given up 106 to PP, 69 to the regals, 110 to CMS.  Reverse the thought, the Regals ground game has been nil, as the conference grinds on teams will game plan to your QB....and dare the Regals to run.

The bottom line is the Regals O line is not up to par this year.

Coach Mac will have to reach into his blogging bag of tricks to pull of the upset.

Hi Guys. I haven't posted much over the last year. Just been busy with work and family. I just wanted to stop in to show my support for Coach McEnroe. We went to Cal Lu together, graduating in '93, and he has always been a faithful and respectful guy. He is spoken of with such vitriol in this thread that I can't help but think that there's a little envy. I'll take a coach who is a great father and husband, loyal to his school, and goes 41-6 in his last 47 SCIAC conference games any day. I'm not sure what SCIAC program or coach can hold a candle to that in the last ten years.

Again...not trying to start an argument. I enjoy reading the banter in this thread. I learn some stuff about some of the other conference teams at times as well.

Take care,

CalLuForLife
Cal Lu Class of '93 and season ticket holder for 40 years. My parents were class of '67 and '68 and I grew up on the campus. Go Kingsmen!!!

Cal Lu you read way to much into post, no one on this board has ever question Coach Mac as a person, good coach and program, he is the one that puts himself out there...and as humble as he is, he too reminds us of his record.

I think D3 Football does a great job, but Pat you guys have way to much influence on people in regards to your poll on D3 Football, on your front page. I get Chapman is ranked higher than UR because they played Linfield much tougher than UR. However the team that played UR was not the same team as Chapman, LF corrected many issues in the passing game. I have seen both in person and on video. I would take LF over MHB.

Regarding the Poll: Folks we smacked the Regals, by over 30. It was a blow out.

PLU/Regals...7 point game
PLU/Pacific....7 point game
Willamette beat the Regals by 21

We will see this weekend where Chapman lines up as they play the Regals,  and BTW we beat CMS by 24 and Chapman beat them by 10. So the margin is narrow between UR and Chapman. Looking forward to seeing the Panthers in a couple weeks.

Great Job stirring it up Pat

I don't understand the influence point but thanks, I guess?

olddog...Sam Riddle is a sophomore. Everyone on LINFIELD knew he had chops. Coach Smith was confident enough in his team to let the upperclassmen have a shot to move the offense against Chapman. They did not. Insert the better quarterback and the game changed. Had Riddle started I project the score would have been similar to Redlands - except for the 14 to 3 given up by LINFIELD defense.

I agree with you on the Chapman game, it was not the same team we played.  LF is very good. I think this LF team is better than MHB last season (who should have won it all) and this years MHB. the game will be close but your O line could handle MHB's d front and if MHB had to bring pressure, your passing game would do some damage. My buddy who played at Cal was very impressed by your team's execution. Should be fun to watch. Looks like the SCIAC winner will get a rematch with LF.

My point is most of the voters have not seen all the teams play or even bothered to compare score, but Chapman has received some nice press despite really never beating a top 50 team in the last 5 years.

Willamette is receiving the least votes (of the five teams) in that reader poll question...but is the only other team besides Chapman receiving votes in the D3 Top 25 (and more than a couple votes).

I'm a pretty big homer, but did not vote for PLU in the reader poll.  Should be a good match-up with Willamette this weekend.

i still don't think Willamette is very good but I also thought PLU's defense was questionable after the game against CalLu which proved to be the case.  Both of these teams like to turn it over so that is probably what will decide it...

Yeah, I have a sense that the Bearcats might be the overrated team now (in the Top 25 votes - but we'll see).  I just thought the difference in how they shake out there vs. this week's reader poll was interesting.

I am upset that St. Scholastica is 7-0 and not ranked.

What about Oxy's ability to stop the run?
