<Meanwhile, somewhere in Redlands a student wakes up and exclaims to their roommate.  "You know what I dreamed about?   We made a rap video about the newspaper shutting down and turned the whole thing around.">

Spring ball is underway at UR, I heard new strength coach is doing a good job, boys some making 10% plus strides . I have not heard a lick on how recruiting is going.
I still do not understand why they can not use typical football blocking dummies and pads, just stupid to me.

I hear his new pool workouts have really helped the dawgs so far:

The pool craziness starts in May, UR does a "May Term" instead of an extra winter session. It is tradition for the kids to go the pool in the afternoon. I have seen pictures before sometimes 300+ kids there, I am sure someone will find an image...

Man that was some very poor technique against one of the best, tough formula. I think the kid would tell you so too. Kick slide, punch, etc, nada....why put your head on him so it is easier to spin?  The guy was a senior too....pretty tough for me to watch...honestly

Good Luck to your son at HSU. Hopefully they can keep the coaches that recruited your son. They have a high turnover of assistants and players who leave the program.

thank you, but as we all know, you never pick a school based on coaches alone. Because like you say, the turnover rate is great. Its a beautiful area and campus and the kid likes it up there. the question we posed to our son more times than he probably wanted was. "without football, do you want to live here" "this isn't a football decision, this is a life decision" :)

FTP,

Sounds like you tried to mentor your son with the right questions. One of my boys had HSU on his radar along with several friends that have played there. I know three boys that dropped out of FB for various reasons at various points in time, all finished school there, most said the liked it pretty well.

Good Luck to your son.

And! Arcata has a nice airport. With luck and $ you can see every home game.

I heard new strength coach is doing a good job making a Redlands strength training video.
