Got my trip booked for Minneapolis. As I said earlier just going to enjoy the ride as long as it lasts.

Let me know if you'd like any recommendations (food, sights, etc.) in the area or if you have any questions about the game day details. Most of the latter should be covered pretty thoroughly be tommiesports.com, of course.

The puppies need to be put back in their pens. Turnovers (5) and four crucial unsportsmanlike penalties, left this  old guy embarrassed. Worse UR performance I have seen in years. Ugly boys, quit putting yourself above the team. Coach Maynard will need some sole searching on what type of characters he wants in his program.

I could be mistaken, but I do not believe Coach Maynard has ever had a 3-6 season at Redlands. So hey!! you underperforming, mediocre puppies, listen up. How about you not suck on Saturday and get a win to avoid being the worst Redlands team in the Maynard era. There are no more participation trophies, or bubble wrap to protect you, time to be men and not little boys playing dress up with football pads.

Signed,

Disappointed Alumnus

Good to see the young pups responded. For that effort, you graduate from puppies to Junior Dawgs. It's going to take a lot to earn the Dawgs title back but it can be done with hard work in the offseason. Oh and a little recruiting will go a long way too, you're not off the hook coaches.

Absolutely. I've never been. I do have family and friends there so I won't be flying totally blind. If you have suggestions hit me with them.

We are lucky the weather doesn't appear to be too bad. Sunny and in the 30's late in the week. That I can deal with.

Just avoid talking to UST's head coach if you run into him....you might leave Minnesota with a used car.

I would be remiss if I did not talk about last weeks victory over the Oxy Tigers 41-14. I have been pretty hard on my Pups because they deserved it. What is frustrating is they came out and played a complete game, for the first time this season. Where in the hell has this been. We tackled well and no personal fouls. RFB, I heard the boys knew very well about Maynard's record. Jim Good on the post game show said the seniors made sure they had good practices last week. It showed they were ready. They baffled Scott the QB with changing his read and forcing him to check down all the time, brought pressure up the middle since he does not run well, and we were much more the physical team. BTW #75 on Oxy, being tough is not ripping off guys helmets and getting two personal foul call. The league should watch the tape.

Oxy was pretty cocky before the game, I think the players and fans thought the dogs were going to roll over like scolded pups. Oxy got outplayed on all three fronts. The d line dominated Oxy's line for all but one series. Do' shut it down after twisting his ankle, took off his gloves and said I broke the SCIAC all time rushing record so I am done, No Mas. I was disappointed to see him not even try to get back in the game. Scott the QB took many shots and I thought he was close to tapping out too, but he hung in there. I think Oxy thought this was their year to beat UR, but Maynard was not going to let the pups roll over. It was an old fashion behind whipping. Oxy could not recover and wake up quick enough. It was over at halftime. UR was deep into their rotations in the third.

One final note, Oxy you folks need to show some class and respect,  from students raising your fist while the national anthem is playing to the coaches n dropping F bombs where all the fans can hear it, including little kids. I lost count how many times the DC did it. Clean up your act. Oxy embarrassed themselves.

Good Luck to the Leo's....I will be watching.....There are a few cold weather tricks, I am sure one of the players will google.

Good breakdown, always great to put it on Oxy. Class went out the window when they let DW go.

Any talk of dropping football, I know their are several old football players that have made large donations in the past?

I don't see that happening.  I have no insight into the Program or AD, but watching from afar, we are not talking about a lost cause here.  The SCIAC is not the WIAC, MIAC, or NWC.  SoCal Area with Santa Barbara to the North, Palm Springs to the East, and San Diego to the South is fertile football territory.  But there is a lot of competition for that talent.  Maybe they consider hiring a young, energetic coach looking to build his resume.

I like this idea a lot. The question is where do we find this guy? I love Whittier College and hope the program can be rebuilt.
