Coach Finstock - "There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that and everything else is cream cheese."

Oxy's QB the last four years "Bryon Scott" got a rookie tryout with the Rams, he is in rookie camp right now. Pretty cool.

Less than two more years of Gavin.

Just some post season information, and Since Redlands faced UMHB (and did well in my opinion) Teidrick Smith who graduated this may, signed a contract with the L.A. Rams... https://twitter.com/DPFootballAgent/status/863558144013815808

Decided I'm going to spam every conference board with my preseason (non-returning-starter-adjusted) projections.

Team   Rating   Overall   Conference
Redlands   0.8895   7.4-1.6   5.8-1.2
Chapman   0.7442   5.6-3.4   4.9-2.1
Cal Lutheran   0.7085   5.5-3.5   4.5-2.5
CMS      0.6478   5.5-3.5   4.1-2.9
Pom-Pitz   0.4768   4.4-4.6   3.1-3.9
La Verne   0.4125   3.3-5.7   2.7-4.3
Oxy      0.3678   3.0-6.0   2.4-4.6
Whittier   0.0541   0.3-7.7   0.3-6.7

Redlands is a heavier favorite right now than I would have assumed, and CMS is lower. Don't know enough about what everyone has returning to say more (except "Whittier, woof").
Follow me on Twitter. I post fun graphs sometimes. @LogHanRatings

It my be a little out of line to say this but the entire Whittier athletics (mens sports) department need an overhaul.

A decent HS team could beat Whittier. They are a straight up embarrassment.

Redlands has several holes to fill next season, so it very far from a lock. In many cases on injury from things going down the drain.
RB, lost depth due to graduation and can starter comeback from injuries, jury is very much out...need some kids to step up, blocking back is back and good
QB, need a back up
OL, return all five starters, most are three year starters, soul of team
WR, lost about half the guys, but good depth and two very good athletes back, will be just fine

DL, lost a lot of depth, 3 out 5 in rotation gone, only 2 players back with significant playing time....zero depth, time to step up
LB, return POY, and others have starts...depth here, will be fine
DB, need to replace senior corners, Rovers vastly improved last year and studs. good group still
Kicker, can be very good

In short unlike most Redlands teams, the offense will need to lead the defense...control the ball and outscore others

Caution before confidence.  I like that in the pre-season.  And I like following D3 football in California, even if isn't in the half of the state in which I grew up.  olddog, what year did you graduate?
Reality is for those who lack imagination 😀

Short, slow, and friendly are three things you don't want to be on a football field.  Unfortunately, WC has more than their fair share of those types of players.
You can't leave me....all the plants will die.

Hey folks. I am a new transplant to Southern Cal and am interested in seeing a D3 game or two. I played ball at Adrian in the early 2000s and keep an eye on them, but don't know much of the left coast. Which games/stadiums would be the best for someone with no loyalties out here? I am just looking for a fun experience and/or great game.

Waxx:  Welcome to Southern California....circle September 9th and head for Orange Ca. Chapman vs Linfield.  The Wildcats have some holes to fill....but it's looking good.

Welcome to the Megalopolis.
Be sure to sit on the visitor's side when you show up at the Chapman game September 9th. Just stand in the aisle before the kick-off and shout, "ADRIAN!" We'll find you.

The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference stretches from Thousand Oaks to Redlands, about 115 miles along the 210/134/101 Freeways which just changes numbers in Pasadena and Burbank. It's a straight shot The solutes (California Lutherans as opposed to the nolutes Pacific Lutheran) have a newish stadium. Redlands has the best damn natural turf. Wherever their game is should be of interest to you.

You can do what Guru PC did one year and that is find Pomona and Claremont Mudd having a home game the same day so you can see both stadiums about a 3-wood apart.

So sorry, there will be no playoffs in the region come November.
