Redlands Uniforms need an upgrade. You can't deny that RFB.

No, they do not need an upgrade. Redlands has made some subtle changes over the years. They added the white stripe on the helmet which is bordered with two maroon stripes. When I played we just had a maroon stripe on the helmet. They have also went to a darker, charcoal gray which I think looks very sharp. I'm a big fan of the all maroon look at home which is classic Redlands from the 1990's that they went away from for awhile and brought back a few years ago.

I think the Oregonfication of utilizing different looks outside of our school colors is stupid and is where a lot of this uniform upgrade crap is coming from. The majority of kids coming out of HS are as soft as wonder bread, so it does not surprise me that they take uniforms into account as to where they play. Hell, I had a parent call me recently to try and negotiate his sons offer after he graduated from college.

RFB you are right LF uniforms. I don't think between Harry and Maynard there ever was a huge concern on being the best looking. I think the uniforms used about 7 years ago with the silver pants looked cool. I like the fact UR tries to stay an little old school.

I liked the Redlands road uniforms I saw at UMHB last season.

That was the home pants with away jerseys. The original away pants in silver are cut super long for some reason.

Oh, now I see. The Redlands road uniforms last year are why olddog believes that showing was superior to the 2 loss NWC Champs?

I guess when you are sporting news  pre-season #1 team in the nation and you get spanked in the second round, it was a great season. LF's play matched their uniforms.

Sporting News counts for nothing.

Way too early 2017 prediction:

1. Cal Lu
Returning athletic playmakers on both sides of the ball, plus what is most likely a transfer heavy class, provide the Kingsmen the horses to take care of business. Assuming everyone comes back (not always the case), getting off to a fast start will be key.

2. CMS
Been finishing near the top for a little bit now.  Losing QB and best DLlineman, but could still have enough pieces with size on both lines and skill positions, including Pre-Season All American Victor Bunce.

3. Redlands
Return a lot of talent, but can this year's team score enough points and overachieve to meet expectations set after last year? The Bulldogs' season could be decided by their downfield passing game, The team will go as the QB goes!

4. LaVerne
Natural for a team to have a down year after a championship run with a senior heavy team.  The Leopards were probably a little better than their record indicated last year.  Can the Leo's find some consistency? Their offense can put up points but can also turn the ball over in bunches. Defense needs to do more bending and less breaking!

5. Chapman
Will be interesting to see their incoming class, they have some pieces in place already; if the new guys at the right positions adjust to the game speed quickly, the Panthers could be a tough out.  The problem is you never know what team is going to show up any given week!

6. Pomona-Pitzer
2016 was a Good year for the Sagehens, and was a few plays short of a Great year.  They return weapons on offense, including probably the best RB in the SCIAC, and experienced starters on defense, but I'm still skeptical of their ability to match up physically across the board.  See PP losing some close ones this season.

7. Whittier
Two straight winless year for the Poets, who struggled on both side of the ball in 2016 and don't return anyone who was close to all-conference.  Wasn't much of a difference under the New Head Coach, but I would imagine year 2 would be an improvement, even if that means winning just 1 game.  Recruiting has to be a tough sell.

8. Occidental
Things aren't trending in a good direction right now for the Tigers. Head Coach "retires" right before the season with a thinning roster.  Makes you wonder what their incoming class will look like.  Oxy struggled even with a stud at QB last year, cant see things going well for the residents of Eagle Rock in 2017.

OCguy

Word from some Chapman people suggest that the incoming class consists of a ton of athletes and skill position players. Chapman still lacks the ability or maybe just the wherewithal to recruit linemen. That is going to be the weakest point for the Panthers. Hopefully they can stay healthy in the trenches and give the QB some time to find his new weapons.

Thanks for the list, there is no way CMS is number 2. They got real lucky in two seasons ago. Two wins were given to them, Oxy and UR. They have improved but lack depth especially up front. Last season was a very true reflection of where the program sits, vastly improved but not over the top yet.

1A...CLU always has the talent to win this thing, Something is a miss at CLU and I can not put my finger on it. Their O line recruits and DB have been their weak spot to me, along with team almost seams out of control or not dedicated as in the past.
1AA, UR, coming off a better play off performance that LF against the national champ. Should be the favorite but concern is depth and replacing DBs and D line. The entire O line returns and will be the strength of the team. They will shove the ball down your throat and control the game. Should be the best in the league. D Line has to just two guys back in the rotation. LB have the best backer in the league and a 1AA type kid. Some talented strong safeties in the 3-3-5, but need corners and FS play to step up. Depth is a bigger concern than last year. Enough skills on O to get the job done, couple all league WR. Yes QB is not a great deep threat, heard his arm has gotten stronger. He can run and very good at keeping the sticks moving. If he steps up they will outscore you.

3) Chapman. Only because they should be there, OC guys has them pegged. No reason to repeat. If there front line plays well they will be in the mix.

4) CMS, getting better players but still need more depth. Depth upfront will hinder them. They had about 5 very good players last year then they dropped off, loss of D linemen will hurt.

5) La Verne, only because admissions are easier than most SCIAC school, they have the Admin support, so no reason they do not have CLU type talent. Their aid is better than most in the SCIAC and have big numbers every year.

6) Pomona, 6 to 8 could shuffle. Same issues at CMS...Caron was a good coach, had good plans.

7) Whittier, lost my contact with that program so no clue, just assuming they will get better. No reason they can not get some good LA County players.

8) Oxy Poets, I am sure their students will disrespect the American Flag at some point, Parents will get their pre and post game wine in either way. Admin could care less about sports anymore.

I love it  WC, I will continue to say any win by a SCIAC team will be a miracle...There is no comparison between the SCIAC and LF program. No program is as committed to Football as LF...Throw in less expensive and easier to get into ....tough formula even for a good coach like Maynard.

Facts still remain, the Sporting News preseason number one team, was never really in the game and got spanked in the second round.

Oxy gave up 50 points per game last season. Now they have a new coach, brought in at the very last minute on a wing and a prayer, who said, "The goal is for [the players] to develop great relationships that they can be proud of -- and along the way we're going to block and tackle, too." There's a high-powered pep talk for you. Like a Little League mom yelling after her kid strikes out, "Have fun out there!"

It's going to be ugly.
