man, it is very painful seeing the Poets program suffer year after year. Hopefully someday it can be respectable again.

I thought BJ Hammer did a good job there considering the circumstances.

I would agree. My son played two years under Hammer (2007 (4-5 record) and 2008 (1-8 record) also one year under Stratton in 2012 (4-5 record)  The glory years of four win seasons  haha

For the record, my son enjoyed his time at Whittier and made many life long friends there. There are some damn fine people over there.

D O.C.

Would it be that Redlands was using the Poets to warm up for the solutes?

Looking forward to this one. Going to be a good game. Too bad there isn't a strong team from Eagle Rock who could be in the mix for a title or upset in Orange this weekend. Nah, the conference doesn't need the extra intrigue..

Can't fault Maynard for getting his players to keep the foot on the gas, but you can't deny his M.O. is to usually pour it on.

Which is why it was (past tense) so satisfying to beat UR.

I understand your message, you should know the fella that they were trying to get the football to is a team favorite and marine vet, who has been a career back up. All the passes in the fourth quarter were to him. He is an outstanding human being. Some would argue not to pass and I get it.

Blackburn caught the pass I was talking about, which was in the 3rd quarter up 42-0. If you're talking about Verspoor then I have no issue with that.

Considering what happened at Oxy I really have no place to say anything, but since you all begged and pleaded for me to come back I feel I have to say something, especially if it riles up RFB.

Ok Bob I remember the play, I agree...I am not sure why Blackburn was even in the game. If I was the coach he would not have been.  I had not noticed him for a couple series.
I can tell you Maynard will never back off. They try to play everyone in blow outs but he wont back down, to his credit he wont stop coaching if its the fifth string in too.

Going forward, is OXY done with football?

Despite what the naysayers here would have you believe, I don't think Occidental is done, no.

Oxy has now posted they are recruiting an offensive coordinator.

They did not have an OC listed at the start of the season.  I believe the HC was acting as the OC.

It will be interesting who takes it, my guess someone not from So Cal.

BJ is in his first year at Allegheny College.  They have only won two games total in the last four years.

They have already won three games with only Oberlin to go.  They player Wabash tough, losing 41-48.
They have a roster of over ninety players.
