Some light reading (filled with errors, omissions, and lies)

President Veitch is setting up the kill shot for the program. Sad to see a proud football program with so much history on its death bed.

Agreed.  Everyone of his quotes were reasons why they can't rather than they can.  Football at Oxy is screwed with that type of leadership.

QuoteFrom the time Rob Cushman was announced as the Tigers' new coach on August 1 to opening kickoff 38 days later, the squad dipped in size from 56 to 47 players—20 of them freshmen. "Every program has its challenges, but this is different, obviously," says Cushman, who inherited an 0-10 squad at his most recent coaching stop at the University of Minnesota, Morris. "I never expected this when I got here."

Unless Oxy flat-out lied to Cushman about the state of the football team, that's the lousiest and least effort of due diligence ever. Good work, coach.

Oxy has such a proud tradition. It is almost criminal that the current administration is essentially excusing themselves out of fixing the program. I wonder if the President has ever heard that old saying about excuses?
It also sounds like Oxy screwed Cushman and is doing their best to save face.

Yup, you can see it in his letter in the same issue

...Cliff Notes from the article

Hire a weak AD, we all know why...
She hates FB, old white men, and jealous
FB coach makes minor mistake, she turns it into a dumpster Fire
Admin, Allows kids at halftime to raise their fist in the air and show no respect for vets, while attending a 65k a year school. Beacon of more to come
School hides their AD is weak, site other silly reasons.
President now trying to find a way to tell Alumni "I tried but kids just don't want to play here"...bye bye football.

New team nickname adopted in 2022 "The Snowflakes"

Summary:
It's the alumni's fault, so they should pony up more money.
The zen approach used by the coach will prevent concussions, and clear heads win games.
There is still a chance the efforts will fail.

There is one name missing in this response. Why is that name missing?

If I understand correctly, the AD is battling health issues (and Brian Newhall is the acting AD).

She looked healthy enough on the 13th when I was leaving the Oxy-Pomona b-ball game and she drove by in her white SUV.

In regards to Oxy, I think what happen should serves as a warning that will be ignored, making social change is good but hating other sports just because they are popular and taking them down cru$hes schools/alumni.
