I might have asked this before but do D3's really have a letter of intent for high schoolers to sign?  Isn't it still a crap-shoot to see who shows up on campus?

There is now a ceremonial signing letter for D-III incoming student-athletes to sign. It is, of course, non-binding, but it allows high schoolers to be recognized for their future plans the same way their scholarship counterparts are.

We had a ceremony at our high school for two kids who will be playing D-III, including my son who will be going to CMS next year. Not only was it a nice way to acknowledge the work and effort the kids put in on the field and in the classroom, but I think it was good for our high school program in that it showed younger kids there are a lot of opportunities out there. Living in Oklahoma, a state with no D-III schools, I think it is important for those younger athletes to learn there are options besides FBS and D-II.

On a different note, this is my first post. I look forward to reading everyone's comments and learning more about the SCIAC (and other D-III) teams/programs from you guys.

Redlands: Has shoddy phone systems and never won a playoff game
Oxy: Don't invest too much getting to know them
CLU: Had a window to be pretty good but that has passed. Plays terrible run defense.
Chapman: You park under their football field. Beautiful campus
La Verne: One winning season since 2000
Whittier: Changes head coaches about every 3 years
P-P: Always respect a team whose mascot wears a cap

How nice of Wildcat 11 to leave off CMS.

Since his reviews were mostly negative, didn't want to risk pissing off the new poster! ;)  (And may have figured he already knew CMS better than W11 did.)

Look at Kitty Cat talking about shoddy phone systems. UMHB has to use carrier pigeons to try and schedule Linfield now.

Welcome to the board. The only thing you and your son need to know is Redlands is KING!

Well, he did get an education from Linfield. Not exactly world scholars being produced in McDonaldsville.

The non-binding celebratory letter gives kids who commit to play at Oxy the option to transfer immediately when Oxy doesn't field a team.

CMS is what Oxy wants to be.  They once almost gave up football as well, but good leadership brought them back.

UR hasn't really been any good since the 7-year run of Dan Selway ended.

And since SnoopDawg's son threw a 80 yard TD pass in his only appearance.
