I don't know if any Humboldt players will jump to the SCIAC. They may go to Azusa, or Western Oregon, or maybe CWU. I don't think they'd fit Oxy's academic profile but you never know.

But I'd be interested in your thoughts.

The AD at CWU says they've got some good deals to fill those two games against Humboldt with some Midwestern D2 teams. It's still kind of a dirty deal they did there as far as I'm considered. A mile different from Oxy's problems.

California is a weird mix, especially to my Midwestern eyes:

7 D-1A
4 D-1AA
1 D-2 (when Humboldt goes away)
8 D-3
1 NAIA

I really believe CA is trying to kill football in general.  The Cal State system has 3 football playing institutions left, San Diego, San Jose and Fresno.  If San Diego can't build a football stadium, they will be done.  The UC has LA, Berkeley and Davis.  Out of 24 institutions, only a quarter have football.  They all claim to care about the male population, but only 6 put their money where their mouth is and sponsor football.  Sad State of affairs.

Sacramento State still plays football, but you're right about the current state of football in California.

Cal Lu has a running back transfer from Humboldt according to a few posters here that are close to the program.

The Acorn in 1000 Oaks wrote an article about Cal Lu.  Looks like they have a transfer RB from Humboldt State.  It will be interesting to see if Cal Lu is tough enough to run the ball, usually they are all fluff and try to pass all the time.

https://www.toacorn.com/articles/start-the-bus/

CLU actually has a couple of D1 rollbacks and an all conference D3 player who also was a roll back, ALL ROADS LEAD TO THE LU. The scrimmage with MPC Thursday differently looked promising for running and passing, but Defense for the LU was lights out for front 6, lots of pressure. Each squad had deep TD and LU had more than 3 long run for TD or at red zone.

MLB transfer is a stud too.  This CLU team looked talented in person.
Brother they have a JUCO kid that transferred their last year that is a complete beast. The way he hits reminds of JR Hunt (2013/14 year)at chandler, he was lighting up WR & RBs where you would hear it on Hudl and fans Oooooo. I'm excited to see this season. Biggest transfer was the NG that was All conference in another D3, and started at D2 program prior. All state kid from Chandler. Defense should be really good, but as another poster stated before, do they all have the chemistry as transfers.

Oxy1995 and Oxy fans everywhere

Hey, if a Polar Bear can comment on this board, so can a Purple Raider!
Just want to wish Oxy the very best on the season. I did this many posts back but I'm doing it again. Sure hope you get some positives out of this year. Hate to see ANY program go away. Everyone working together should go a long way to re-establishing this program. Go Tigers! ☠🏈
More alums are willing to get involved now that the old AD is no longer there
AS MC hammer songs says "TO LEGIT TO QUIT" Love the support from their alums and people on here that won't let it go. We are losing our JUCO's in the phoenix area an now most likely Pima CC in Tucson is looking to shut it down. Dame shame

Oxy, Menlo has stopped playing FB

I did not know that. My last visit to Menlo was in 2007. I am behind the times.

This website shows Menlo as playing in NAIA. More fake news.

My data was a bit old I guess. Alas.

Anyway, football's dwindling in CA.

It failed, but I'm sure it won't be the last attempt.  Odds that Hoffman was behind this?

Bunch of pussies trying to coddle the great game. I'm seeing this wimp trait more and more in my fellow man. The authors of this bill are probably Cal Who grads.
