So did the hit make his arm go forward or did the QB...this is the question.

LF lost by 8 points, do we go back and find bad calls made in LF favor, its SCIAC refs move along....you guys have the wine, I get pick up some more cheese.
It was UR day, it happens move on...just be a man about it. Cleary LF was out played up...the team that played better won this one. -37 yards rushing and grown men are complaining about calls, focus on your line staying on blocks, stopping a four man rush, tell them to stop learning so much, tell them  to pick up twist and inside moves, teach them to kick slide and stay balanced and not getting their hands knock down. That is why LF lost.

Sorry Linfield fans, but you have stuck it to us for years on these boards, so time for you to take some of your own medicine. We have been pretty even in our response, but the fact remains you got punched in the mouth by a better team.

Also, we can both nitpick calls. For instance - Carl Holmes (CB) was in perfect position to intercept an overthrown long ball by Wyatt Smith. The Linfield WR tugged on his jersey to prevent it from happening. It was clear as day as offensive pass interference and ended up a personal foul on Carl Holmes. This led to points for Linfield. Take that and the gift given on the one yard line and the score is very different.

So, how about you just congratulate the better team on the night. WC11 can post whatever he wants on his blog, but we all know the truth what happened: DOMINANT REDLANDS VICTORY and NWC CHAMPIONS.

Illustrating one missed call does not a whiner make.

I stated the night of the game LINFIELD was outplayed.

This particular play followed a game opening huge pass play and negated momentum for the visiting team.
The fact the defensive player got through was the tone of the game without the "call."

Well said RFP....I could tell you held back previously because you are a former player from all the jabs thrown by grown men who have not played a down yet take message board credit for the outcomes. If the outcome never changes games would be boring. UR played better just accept it and get better.

Well, good for RU on their win! I hope the guys are looking at this as a good step forward and it propels them forward for the season. That's a good Win! I will say this, alot of programs have stepped up their game so to me this is an overall positive for the sport.
Good luck Dawgs!

It is fun to pick up a big win. It will help our recruiting. We always have a lot of NW players on our roster and beating three NW schools, including a program that has dominated the west coast, this pre-season will give the coaches something to talk about. However it is just one win.
Some things LF did against UR worked, they put a spy on our QB on third and long. They took away the short pass to the TE, etc..others will try to do the same, plus shut down outside zone or sweep with our speed. We play Chapman away (good team speed) and we have had some bad games there and we play Regals at CLU. It is always extra special to play them. We have to get better and healthy. Mike Maynard will do his best.

I stated what I saw in the video for that play alone.... Linfield didn't play well enough to win the game.

olddog and RFB,

You are absolutely right.    Yes, lots of penalties all night; some were likely wrong.    The fact is we got beat fair and square.   Wasn't Linfield's first loss and won't be the last.    Now it is how the team handles it.

For 16 years, we have had an average rushing game.    We consistently have good to great passing and defense.     Now we have to figure out how to beat Whitworth and six other conference teams.     Won't be easy.

Congrats Redlands!    I love your stadium and real grass!     That's real football.

GT, well said...its over, learn and the goal is to win league. I am sure LF will see a lot of things UR did this season in league. You guys have a solid coaching staff I am sure they will work their tails off to get the boys ready. How is the center? I hope it was just grade 1 injury. Pretty tough to get hurt your senior year.

Not typical, fumbling forward 20 yards....

That's pretty definitive, isn't it?  If you frame-by-frame that, it's pretty clear Smith has control of the ball going forward and the pass goes squirrelly at contact.  Definitely not an empty hand pushing that ball forward.

I don't have a dog (or cat) in this hunt, but I'm in agreement with the Linfield fans here that that's pretty clearly a bad miss by the officials.

I'm also in agreement with the Linfield fans here that Redlands was better last Saturday.  Bad call or no, the result was a proper reflection of the play on the field, IYAM.

I say Redlands playing UMHB helped get them to this point as well.

Sorry DOC, I say recruiting and superior offseason program. UR was more explosive than LF last Saturday

For sure. You have to play better competition to grow and develop. A lot of lumps and beat downs are in that process, but you come out the other side better for it. You emulate the program (Linfield) you want to become. Redlands is not there yet by any means, but they are building it the right way.
