North Central, Bethal, JC, Wesley, HS, Platteville, St Thomas....all one or two loses and ranked above UR, plus a couple more upsets of the highly ranked un-beaten like NCC situaton...result is UR is out...

The top 25 poll doesn't have anything to do with it.  We need at-large selection 101 around here.

Feel free to let us know why, don't be like my wife and tell me I am wrong with out the reason. Thanks

For the simple and obvious reason that the d3football.com poll is not a part of the selection criteria! :o ;)

Personally, I wish it was.  But it isn't.  Every year at least 3-5 teams ranked in the top 25 fail to make the postseason.

And, IF they win out, Redlands is a virtual lock for a pool C.  Geez, some of you guys whine about bias worse than east region posters! :o ::)

It's all about the NCAA's regional rankings, not what a bunch of voters think.  This same discussion comes up every year in baseball, where there are plenty more at-large bids for obvious reasons, and people get their panties (or depends) in a twist because some team rattles off 31 wins and doesn't get picked.  Then you look at their regional ranking and they are nowhere to be found.  It's just like Pat and the guys who run this do not make the brackets, but they somehow feel the wrath of numerous people who think they do.  It's really pretty simple and has been the same for years.

As far as Redlands and the playoffs, if Chapman is ranked 4 or 5, would the Northwest Champ have to be ranked accordingly for them to play?  Or does the committee have the right to send schools anywhere within a region?  Redlands should be ranked in the Regional rankings when they come out.  But it is the NCAA which has done some stupid things over the years.

To be fair, the NCAA regional rankings are also determined by a bunch of voters. :)

As a longtime newspaper guy, an opinion piece shouldn't ever be confused with an "article."

Just another reason the UR does not get one cent from me.

Same Reason I stopped, When Dr A left the donations dropped off two years later. I give only to athletics.
Background, many ex Maynard players are police officers...there is a big connection between the team and LE. Long before BLM.
In regards to the American Flag, I don't think UR was the first but one of the first. I noticed after 911...it appeared ex Military and active reserves players started carrying the flag on the field. It now has evolved into a honor at the school, to be one of the flag holders
As long as our flag flying high at UR is a problem, I will have alligator arms reaching into my pockets.

OLDDOG SAFE SPACE would look nice in the Uni prospective student brochure.

I'm looking for a Chapman stumble. A close scare won't do.

Yep. I played with and drank many beers with some of those players who are now police officers. Good men, all of them.

UR is supposed to be a bastion of higher education, but apparently it is teaching students that if they complain they will be appeased.  Where was the discussion on the issue?  Very sad that schools appease the squeaky wheel.  I guarantee the university will still take donations from departments and police associations.
