My goodness that was a fun game to watch!  It's a shame one of these teams had to lose but the Cats shouldn't hang their heads.  Chapman was much better than I expected and they have some studs on both sides of the ball.

Nice to meet some of the posters at the game today, thanks for stopping by to say hello.

The turning point of the game was at the end of the first half. Redlands has the ball and could have scored at least a fg. With two timeouts, they had the ball around if not inside the UMHB 20. Poor clock management led to not even a fg attempt. To start the second half, Redlands drives the field and scores. It could have easily been a one score game before UMHB got their first possession in the second half. Any thoughts on this, Redlands fans?
Looks like Redlands' QB got knocked out of the game in the 2nd quarter and never came back.  That was probably also a huge factor.

Redlands matched up well on defense, but the offense had a tough time getting things off the ground. Add four special teams mistakes that led to 23 points for UMHB and game over. Can't make that many mistakes on the road against the defending national champs and win. It's simply not happening.

Big congrats to Chapman. Way to represent the conference with a big win. Good luck next week against St. John's.

Oxy Bob,
The weather was very pleasant.  Sweatshirt weather.

The special teams mess ups were very harmful.  Otherwise they matched up quite well.
Redlands had a good following in the stands.

Say what?
West Coast Champion Chapman did not have a single turnover in the game and 3 OTs.
LINFIELD had 3, one a fumble returned for a TD.

We had dinner after SJU's victory, and I watched the end (so like the last 2 hours) of the Chapman victory while we waited for our meals (technology, huh?).  This should be a good battle!

Post Game Follow up. UR

1) Why UR attempted the fake punt on the second series and shorten the field I will never know. The D had already gotten three and out. I know the play was there but the kid that snapped the ball in not your regular ls. I really do not understand what Maynard was thinking at the end of the first half, take some points into the half, very frustrated. We have a good FG kicker.
2) As I said earlier we had to be mistake free and hope they make three turnovers. Four short fields and pick six. Most were preventable, pretty frustrated at our approach. UR defense will be as good as MHB plays in the playoffs.
3) Hats off to the defense, they played at a top 10 level, if you look at the stats the game was very close, because of them. Turnovers....Our program could have shown it is top 15 worthy with out giving MHB the game. Hats off to them they out played us and made few errors. No excuses the out executed.

Post Game LF/Chappy

1) Team speed was the difference, even LF coach commented it took a while to adjust. LF looked really slow I noticed when they were at Redlands.
2) This LF team is just missing the studs up front, period, both sides of the ball, but played really well for a third place team in the playoffs.
3) Bravo Chapman.....sweet win, all the chatter of LF playing SJ, love u man...etc...I don't have to read this week. Congrats Coach O.

Congrats Coach O, indeed.
Your team played turnover free football.

UR with 7 underclassmen, not bad. If Hector decides to return that would be 8. He was the best DB in the conference, potential all region or more.

I like how the SCIAC does it, other coaches vote, and you don't have a vote. No promotion going on.

Amazing game by Chapman of Saturday. The fight and continued determination in adversity was amazing.

Any insight from anyone in regards to the impact this had on the team? What got them here?

How many return next year?

The Johnnies haven't had much defense all year. What does Chapman have to do to limit Erdmann?

Did Chapman come away injury free Saturday? As proven last Saturday and in last season's game against the Cru, Erdmann is a gamer. He played the second half against us with a dislocated left shoulder, I believe, and they still almost beat us.

Good luck, and happy thanksgiving!
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!
