I think this perhaps  makes region 6 the toughest in the D# nation with all Wisconsin schools, MHB, and West coast schools.  Thoughts?

It's a Mt. Union conspiracy.

Definite East Coast Bias!  Region 4 will also be tough, but region 6 also has the most schools included.  MHB and Whitewater will be playing the likes of Linfield or Whitworth, or perhaps Chapman or Redland (wish I could say Cal Lu), but it will be tough.

While I agree Region 6 is ludicrously tough, it is important to remember that regions have nothing to do with the playoff pairings. I assume those will continue to follow what I assume is annual quiet guidance from the NCAA or D3 about how many flight games are "hoped for" in Round 1. Where it will matter is when teams are put on the table to discuss the seemingly ever smaller number of at large bids and there are many worthy candidates from Region 6 but only 1 can be discussed at a time, blocking other candidates from being there in earlier rounds.

MIAC, WIAC, ASC... it's a ludicrous Region in terms of depth of quality. Annually there are at least 2 playoff quality teams in each of those first 3 conferences, and probably 3 or more that would easily throttle a significant number of other conference champions. I'm all in favor of the current system of win your conference and you are in, but this Region is laughably deep and the fourth or fifth ranked team in the Region is probably a National Semifinal contender at least and the 7th or 8th ranked team could be Quarterfinal contender.

SJU puts it over the top. Without the Johnnies the region would be filled with cream puffs. :o

EDIT: After a full year destroyed there’s a near deadly amount of trash talk build up. The season approaching feels like a Bedouin crawling the last fifty yards of desert sand to an oasis.

SCIAC teams already are sent to Linfield, UMHB and St Johns.  So I guess not much really matters.

Yes--this---this is the real problem with the new "regions".

Irony, Coach Maynard is gone due to UR not having the eggs to stand up to all including the woke minority at UR and Coach Mac gone in my opinion due to how this state is changing.

Washington and Texas got two good men, sucks. I just hope the bus tracks have faded on Maynard's back. Football alums are still red hot.
Totally agree and know for fact that your assessment of Mac is correct.  His daughters both graduated from Cal Lu and he was done with the school and state woke climate.  My son would have dinner with his family ofte3n, and knew him and the family well.  The school and conference have lost some quality coaches of young men, not just football players.

I think what really happen and how it went down will work its way out of UR over the year. Freaking sad.

UR is in financial trouble.  They are not letting the Interim coach hire another coach, so football will be down one coach.  If the Bulldogs had a real AD, they could compete nationally every year.  Coach Maynard asked for a bigger locker room every year because he knew that he could have 200+ boys in the program, playing a JV schedule.  UR has a very narrow vision and it is sad watching the deterioration of a once great place.

Look what a bad AD did to Oxy football.

UR expects 110+ carry over players plus new freshman...projecting 155+ players in camp. Folks expect some to quit..
UR lost a DB coach, he took a DC job at a local high school. Family is from the area and it pays more, better stability
