Dr. D, your new the board, some students set out a bunch of small American Flags as I remember as a tribute to dead from the 9/11 attack. Lib-tards pulled the flags up. There was also another incident where students left or turned their back when the national anthem was played before a UR game at Oxy.
Now I will say the team never did anything like that, started to come onto the field with an American Flag etc...

It was pathetic, I was sitting next to some ex military, one fellow had a purple heart from Korea and I felt really bad. They were really upset.
I was glad when my son was not interested in Oxy.  Most local schools are liberal, but they win the prize!!

Anxious and excited to watch the CMS v Whitworth game next week. I think this will help tell how far CMS has come since their last season and if they can legitimately compete with Chapman, Redlands, and Cal Lu.

Dr. Doolittle

Cal Lu was up 42 to 7 at the end of the third quarter and put the bench in.  With 8:12 left in the game, the score was 42 to 28, so coach Lugo put all the starters back in on offense and they drove the ball from their own 15 yard line to the PLU 2 yard line and took a knee to run the clock out.  First 2-0 start in 15 years for Cal Lu.

PLU did not look very good from what I watched, I agree CLU has more talent on the field. They seem more athletic than the past couple years. When is their first test?  PLU used to be right up there with LF. It is sad to see the decline.

So far from what I have seen, CU, UR, and CLU....a clearly better than the rest. I was not impressed by CMS. PP, W, and LV look weaker than 2019.

CLU has a great QB.  Nick is my son's roommate and other than being 5'11", he would be a D1 kid.  Smart, quick reads, quick release and a gun for an arm.  The new O-line coach Sutherland has made a big improvement from what my son says.  They are not as big as previous years up front, but much better technique and they are running the ball much better.  Great RBs and WRs.  The defensive line is strong, but if they have a weakness, it is that they only have a few linebackers.   They should be 3-0 going into conference play, and feel good about winning it all, but anything can happen.

Agreed

I have a ton of respect for the Lutes and feel for their fan base.

The SCIAC used to have a contact who played for Western Carolina. After losing 76-0 to Oklahoma, WCU can use someone who is "smart, quick reads, quick release and a gun for an arm."

By the way, your "my son" count is up to around 20. You may have broken the old record.

I believe that Western Carolina contact never played a down for them. But he did throw an 80 yard pass for Redlands in garbage time before he transferred.  But he had many people cheering for him, including a cheerleader friend of his sister and his father who posted here under three separate names.  I think he used at least one other name at UWC.

But all's well that ends well. And the QB now works for a prominent law office in California. Nepotism has its perks. ;) :P

I am concerned that you have that much time on your hands that you are count "my son" references Oxy Bob?  As a spectator, you can only know so much.  I was trying to give you all the inside perspective, since I actually talk to "my kid" a lot and he shares a lot.  I guess that I will keep it to myself.  Either way, OXy Bob, I am proud of my son!

OK, I suppose some credit should go the the OXY AD.

My take on the LF/Puppies.

1) Mike Maynard's team might have lost that game but not by 39. UR was far from ready to play. Maynard took pride in certain area of the game such as special teams. When did you ever see UR look like they never punted before ?
2) UR has to stop recruiting husky offensive linemen. The formula does not work, there is a reason they are not playing D2, or D1. They are slow.....
3) This is the worse I have seen defense look against LF or MHB. I don't know if it was Smith at QB. I think at some point we try to bring pressure on third and long. Since our corners were giving mattress size cushions and I could have played free safety better. Whoever is coaching the safeties has them hopping around doing nothing and not giving any inside support on post is just down right freshman football.

LF,

Its easy to like the QB, but the core of your team is your fronts. They are as good as any I have seen the last 10 years. LF can rush three men and get pressure. Your DEs are terrific and quick. Hence our fatties could not catch up to them.
You O line is equally good. They got into UR D line and kept contact for that extras half second that makes a huge difference. They kicked our NG ass all night long and that is a key to being able to do what you want with your running game. In a 3-3-5 like UR runs, if your nose can take out two guys and not get washed out, its huge for the backers to be able to close and tackle instead of getting cut off. Those two NG need to grow a pair and stay in the gap and plug. Its brutal up front but our linemen can't take a side/washed.

In short we got tooled by at top 5 LF they should easily make it to the final 8. I think the SCIAC is down, based on this weekend, CLU and CU...games. So we will see. Unless a miracle happens the SCIAC will be one and done. Lets see what Good does with the week off, clean up some stuff. Chapman in three weeks I think.

On the flip side, did anyone watch WC, om my gosh, they are getter worse. I think I might be in the O line rotation.
