Pomona-Pitzer has COVID issues and has to forfeit game vs CLU.  Now P-P complaining that agreement they were part of negotiating prior to season start, is not fair because they are now having to forfeit.  Typical liberal mentality, make rules and enforce, unless it applies to you.  What a joke!

Since you're new, you might want to avoid politics as people have been banned from the boards in the past for this---they even had a "politics" sub-board for a while but it became too problematic and got shut down.

I will stay out of the political arena, but it is funny how they are arguing that it is not fair.  The SCIAC has CLU at 2-0 Conference and 4-0 for the season?  How can CLU have 2 conference wins and 3 non-conference wins, but only be 4-0?

for overall records and purposes of the NCAA, it's a no contest. In almost all circumstances, the NCAA doesn't recognize a "forfeit" of a game that never happened (all sports).

A conference, on the other hand, is allowed to assess an internal forfeit win/forfeit loss for its own standings/AQ determination. So looks like that's what happened here. Overall record is unchanged for both teams, but add 1 SCIAC win for CLU and 1 SCIAC loss for Pomona-Pitzer.

CLU players and coaches felt very confident going into the game and wish they could have played and won the normal way.

Well Well, What a weekend. We missed the two best QBs in the league going head to head. If PP was upset, I cant imagine Oxy's reaction is they had to forfeit, oops they went back to just being a Liberal Arts school, no football.
However the third best QB (according to Dr. D) had a pretty good weekend. Just ask LV when they brought pressure.

Last week I said this was the most important game of the year for UR and from what I could see in my little seat, UR stepped up where they needed too. The focus was so much better this week.

D front played solid, did not let LV's D2 transfer QB run free and showed him enough love that got rid of the ball pretty quick for a guy 235# plus. Linebackers stopped run well and came up on the short passing game or QB scramble and the DBs improved. I did notice the DB rotation changed a bit, but one could tell they were being more aggressive. I like that, if get beat so be it, but that group played 100 percent harder. In short UR made LV look like a JV team. The world was back on its axis.

The O line started off run blocking very well (even got to the backers sometimes) , pass blocking was shaky the first quarter, but got better and with the third best QB's legs, LV never got to him, as he converted several times on them.
I am really liking UR RBs always falling forward, and WR play was solid as its been all season. If  the O line can just just keep improving maybe Dr. D will give us a chance to finish 3rd.

In short I do not get why LV is not better, maybe I have missed on the kids they are getting. The facilities have to be improved if they want to step up in the league. I did notice a lot of new names on the coaching staff, not always a good sign.

I am not a stat guy so I won't point out we beat them by 50, and could have been more if we wanted. Not bad for third place squad.

You old canines are tough (Gray Fox and old dog) and clearly have not been to the vet lately.  I feel ganged up on.  ;D  Anyway, Gray Fox is willing to bet on something that he has no insight on (PP)?  I, on the other hand, prefer inside information when I am betting.  I talk to CLU players and a coach often, so insider info.  As far as QB's, the PP  kid graduated and is going to med school.
They have a new QB, so Redlands likely does have one of the best two QB's in the SCIAC.  .  The coaches poll is out, even though old dog does not like stats and rankings.  Note that Redlands gets 8 point, Chapman gets 1 point, and CLU has 13, for whatever that means.

Dr. D,

LF beat UR and Whitworth soundly. UR had a really tough night no doubt and played below their ability, LF was missing one O linemen when UR played them. LF was missing three starters and WW still could not stop them, three guys up front is huge. Is WW deserving of 22 votes and UR 8?...this is why this stuff does not mean much to me. If Trinity came to Ted Runner they would be an underdog, if UR went to Trinity, UR would be the dog, but Trinity is ranked 4-0 etc...UR would love not to play LF in the playoffs and face Trinity...
