UR/Oxy Game

Jack Kemp would request his name taken down from the stadium if he was still alive.

My favorite memory of Oxy vs. UR is meeting Dan Selway and his dad on the field after yet another Oxy victory. This would have been during Selway's 5th or 6th or maybe his 7th year of eligibility. I wanted to congratulate Selway on his play but instead I got an earful from Selway and his dad as they launched into a harangue about the refs, the lousy lighting, the crowd, etc, etc. So Redlands.

As for Jack Kemp Field, Oxy describes it so: "Occidental payed tribute to famed professional quarterback and former Occidental Tiger on April 29, 2011 by naming the College's first and oldest athletic facility Jack Kemp Stadium. Jack Kemp Stadium includes W.C Patterson Field and Bill Henry Track." https://oxyathletics.com/facilities/venues/JackKempStadium

It's paid, Oxy, not payed. Someone should be tarred for that error.

CMS will be pulling for CLU against Redlands.
They also have to win a couple themselves.

History is definitely not guaranteed to repeat itself, but CMS has already beat their final two opponents once this season. At least they know they can play with them.

CLU has some injuries that will put two key O-lineman out for the Redlands game.  It will be a tough climb, but I am wishful that they might put together a complete game.  Wishful is the key!

The bookies in Vegas and the Redlands coaches who lurk on this board thank you for the information.

Not to mention the CLU players and coaches who lurk here.

The offensive play calling two weeks in the row was terrible  and I blame Lugo.  The O-line was not able to pick up the blitz and they deserve to lose.  The QB was shaken last week and seems to have happy feet in the pocket since last weeks drilling.

This weeks game would have been against Oxy, had they not quit!

D O.C.

Sarcasm directed at the Dr., I detect.

We have learned not to post anything of a nature that might give an opponent an edge. We also have learned the teams themselves, and their coaches, are not expected to be on a fan opinion board.
If I were a freshman taxi squad guy I would duck in here.
If I were an unpaid coach I just might.

Despite the Guru PC's honored position, I'll bet more than a few players check out the Top 25 and Team of the Week - at least. Not so much the message boards.

The only coaches that read this board are the Oxy coaches....

I do know that coaches watch film, and so injuries are not a secret?  Whether the O-line are starters or in a rotation, is the real question.  If coaches use my post for their advantage, they are desperate.

Practice injuries would not be on film.  All in game injuries may not show on film.

I don't think Redlands would win a rematch with CMS

It would be interesting.  CMS run game is simple and impressive.  The RB is patient and tough to tackle.

RB Justin Edwards, Fr., Claremont-Mudd-Scripps

Edwards led the Stags to a 42-34 victory over Chapman with his third 200-yard rushing performance of the season. He carried 38 times for 211 yards and scored three touchdowns. The first-year running back averaged 5.5 yards per carry and logged a long run of 39 yards en route to breaking the Stags' single-season record for rushing touchdowns (16).

Amnesia ....Check...

Yes CMS and UR game would be close...for sure...no doubt ....but the facts were ...in the close game..

CMS started their back up, but a very capable back up (herald out of La Habra, possible 1AA kid in HS, went to CMS for academics) ....and they are a run first and pass second team, dont throw too many deep passes ever.

UR might have played their second to worse game 'LF being worse. 9 penalties...I recall three drive killer or extended CMS ...9 penalties is half a season for UR.

UR has always been a very capable run stopper, Edward was 24 carries for 84 yards...The QB ran for 82...UR held CMS under 200 yard on the day ...
