Sad to report that one of my son's teammates and o-lineman was diagnosed with colon cancer last week.  Two O-lineman on Cal Lu have had cancer in the past 4 years--different types, but still scary.  Prayers to him and his family.  For privacy reasons, name withheld.
So sad.  At that age they don't know until it is well along.  Good luck to the young man.
He had lower back pain and went in for that.  It is crazy that a 20 year old can get colon cancer.  My son said that it was found early and that he should recover!
A good doctor.

18 offensive lineman reporting to camp this year for Cal Lu.  We will see how many are on the roster in September.  4 JC transfers and some recruits with 9 returning.  We will see what the season brings.  I think that the SCIAC will compete well in non-conference.  Cal Lu first game in Texas at Southwestern U., who finished the season last year on a 5 game winning streak.

I am approaching confusing facts cruising downstream past me as are other posters in their mid-70s.  I THINK desertcat1 told me there are 800 kids in the LINFIELD summer camp. Could that be right?

I looked up student enrollment at Linfield and 1390ish students.  800 kids/students in camp would mean very few female students at the school?  Unless you are referring to the HS football camp?

Linfield's High School team overnight camps (over 2 sessions).

I think we can do better than Dutch Boy game for NWC/SCIAC runner up game Pat?  Maybe the Herb Bowl, or Cannabis Bowl?  Just thinking that is what the west coast states are now known for!

Or perhaps it needs to be someone like Alaska Airlines so we can get people to and from?

That would work.  I always fly Alaska when flying to Tacoma for games.

Seems like all the preseason D3 top 25s are iffy but this one made me laugh. I won't complain about UMHB being #3 but the article connected to it indicated that UMHB would be without our QB Kyle King and our top two WRs Brandon Jordan and KJ Miller, all of which are slated to come back for another season. Obviously in D3 anything can happen but King and Miller were voted team captains so it begs the question, who did Lindy's talk too?

Potentially nobody.
After a debate last season while I was on a CLU "High" with you Pat about the coaches poll, I would have to concede that your poll is the most accurate.  My apologies.  Lindy's is just fun fodder!  My son has one more season of fun with football, and he will embrace every second, as will his parents.

Welcome to the bright side. I went back and looked at those posts and the season did play out as our voters thought it would, at least as far as the SCIAC goes.

Our voters are pretty unbiased, especially when you mix 25 ballots together. And I've been doing this since 1999 -- that's a big long time following D-III.

And Mount Union at #1 requires a stretch of the imagination.
