UR is not as keen on football as they want you to believe.  I am not making any excuses for Jim Good, but Martinez and the others in charge at UR have not given Jim Good the money/position to hire an OC.  He has one less full time coach than Maynard did.  When they slid Good into the HC spot, they should have let him hire an OC.  I know a lot of alumni who are not happy about those shenanigans.  Martinez, the President and others will tell you football is important, but they aren't putting their money where their mouth is.

Do you believe Redlands would drop football? Jeff Martinez has been close and integrated within the program since he was the head athletic trainer. I'm sure Jim Good is a good person, but he's not getting it done as head coach. Struggling against Pomona in consecutive seasons is not the Redlands way.

It is possible that the SCIAC will fold, but CMS will not drop football.  Both George Roberts and Henry Kravis are big supporters of sports, including football.   The recent campaign just raised over $1 billion.  The new expansion of the campus will include significant improvements for sports, including a new football field.

Who would CMS schedule with the SCIAC no more?

Agree that the NWC makes the most sense.

It might makes sense for the NWC and SCIAC to merge. They are already reliant on each other for scheduling, so maybe they will be better off together for stability in the future.

SCIAC wont drop football, rumor is Oxy, Whittier and Cal Tech pushing for coed flag teams.

UR is not the school with cuts etc, it was pretty extensive in the SCIAC ...with the exception of CMS and PP....

Again our Federal Gov't cant give away 1/3 of their GDP, and then we can not be surprised there is inflation (any Freshman taking Econ 101 at Liberal Oxy could tell you this one). . Affordability for college is hurting the SCIAC schools except, PP and CMS. Imagine taking a pay cut while inflation was 8.9 % (2022) in the region. Staff has taken a 20 percent cut in purchasing power.
Now that gas is over six bucks a gallon here. Tough formula for full time coaches here too.

Redlands loss to a bad Pomona team at home was as bad as I can remember. The team was unprepared for the second week in a row with terrible play on offense and special teams.

I've seen enough of the Jim Good era. It's time for new leadership at Redlands.

The Pomona writeup indicated that this was Pomona's first ever win at Ted Runner Stadium. That's... unreal. Though, having watched PP while I was at school there, it's believable.

The Regals would be a 7 point favorite if D3 had a betting line, maybe more ... really frustrated our Offense is getting worse as more tape gets out.

I'm going with Redlands by 14.

Perhaps Redlands should look to whatever conference Haskell Indian Nations University is in.

The Bulldogs have a long winning steak against CLU, so I would be shocked if the Kingsman win.  But, Redlands does look bad.  I would still put my money on Redlands.

UR has to play its best game of the year....

UR defense will be the best, CLU has faced this season...it will be interesting. Will UR bring pressure on throwing downs or rush 3. This is the first indicator I will be looking for when CLU has the ball.
Against PP we brought 3,...gave up one score all night. Regals QB moves better and a pretty good arm. On defense the Regals will sit in a 4-3, lets see what they do with their SS and how many stunts, slants or twist they run to the strong side. I will check the backer depth, will they sit at 5 or move up to 4. Any auto reads from them too. I have no doubt they want UR to toss the ball around.

We will see what happens.  I know the CLU offensive line is weak, but the QB reads the defense and is quick decision maker--which makes the offense go.  The defense is better all the way around for CLU, especially defensive line.  Redlands needs to attack the o-line and pressure Andrade, or he will pick them apart.

10 in a row for Redlands over Cal Lu. I was trying to understand why Cal Lu was not stuffing the box with 7-8 defenders, and making Redlands beat them with their limited pass game. Even the Redlands announcers talked about it.

Redlands going with the ground game was the right call, but still would like to see some misdirection added into the run game with their receivers in motion or a wing tight formation. Watching Jim Good football is still very frustrating but at least Redlands won their rivalry game.
