The 15 ULV championship team was a machine on offense. They ran the heck out of the RPO and the qb was a great decision maker.

I didn't see PP defense vs Redlands but I saw them vs CMS. They are scrappy and tough but don't look physically imposing. They reminded me of the old school PP defenses. Gritty bunch. They also seem to get adjusted and figure things out as the game goes on.

My question I have raised to a lot of people is if they didn't let Good hire an OC at UR, what happened to that money.  Did it just up and disappear from the budget?  No one has even attempted to answer that question.  One reason I won't donate money any more.  Why should I donate when UR won't even fight for the kids any more.  Sad state of affairs.

Full time OC hire or not, Jim Good has been the OC at Redlands for a decade plus. No way they should this bad on that side of the ball.

Good win for Redlands. Beating Cal Who is the MUST win game every season.

Ugly, boring game.  Neither team did much-Redlands total offense under 300 yards.  Redlands only passing for 37 yards.  Take away one big game changing run, and Redlands loses.  CLU is the weakest in at least 6 years and Redland worst in the six years that I have followed them.  Both teams suffer from weak O-lines.

Didn't pay to watch but followed along via live stats.  Looks like CalLu could have easily won this one with a better kicking game.
Go Cats!

Still a W though. All that matters

Dr D, sorry I missed you question, had a plumbing leak...life gets in the way of fun.

UR/CLU, I agree these teams are very down. I do think the better team won. Our defense was the difference, CLU could not score, i.e run the ball. The defense is not down, its actually good. Our offense way down and kicking game is average.

Those of you that watched the game notice UR introduced more sets, UR had not run bunch and CLU was not ready for it.
Time to run some boot action, with the qb that is fast, I saw a couple promising frosh #30 I would like to see get the ball more from the slot. Our O line is pretty weak, I saw one kid, I wont mention his number get blow back 5 yards on offense. Watch him the next play and he did not play pissed off. I have complained about the O line, my take is recruit 20 d linemen next year than move some to O line. Two things they can move better and have some nasty in them.

Regarding OL play, I would recruit exclusively in the Midwest for that position group. Sell sunny SoCal as an option and opportunity to come right in and start or get major playing time.

RBF I dont disagree with you but the cost of the school and type of aid giving out...not sure we could get enough, those folks are not used to the prices in the Newsome's Coast ...

Big news out of Whittier.  The alums raised $814K and the school is bringing back football for 2026

https://www.whittier.edu/news/fri-10252024-314-pm/whittier-college-revives-football-2026-backed-814k-alumni-fundraising

QuoteThis comeback was made possible through the unwavering support of Whittier alumni, whose grassroots fundraising efforts raised more than $814,000. Their dedication mirrors the recent successful revival of the men's lacrosse program, underscoring the deep commitment of Whittier's alumni to supporting the College and enriching its athletic legacy.

"We are thrilled to welcome football back to Whittier College," said President Kristine Dillon. "This program has been an integral part of our history, and its return will energize campus life, reengage our alumni, and offer prospective students another compelling reason to join the Poet family. It's an exciting time to be a Poet."

The funds raised will serve as a foundation to hire a head coach, followed by assistant coaches, and recruit athletes for the fall 2026 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Division III season. The College is committed to a "Bring Back Better" approach, giving coaches time to rebuild and strengthen the program for future student-athletes. (The search for coaches, involving participation from alumni representatives, will begin in spring 2025.)

"This isn't just about bringing back football; it's about doing it right," said Ron Gastelum, Chair of the Whittier Board of Trustees and donor. "We're committed to building a robust program that focuses on the holistic development of our student-athletes. We aim to see them succeed on the field, excel in the classroom, and thrive beyond college. I can already envision the stands filled with fans, cheering on our Poets in 2026!"
