Really happy for Whittier College and the alums who pulled this off! I am hopeful that it isn't a bait and switch like Oxy pulled. If this sticks it pulls SCIAC football off the ledge, at least for a while...

Looks like UR,LV and CLU better pay take note, .....clearly donations were going the wrong direction and when alumni got the calls the all the student workers, all the workers would hear is how the school is going in the wrong direction.

Don't hold your breath for Oxy...schools that liberal do not allow masculinity...

Well Saturday night was very frustrating. Our defense held the Stags to less than two hundred yards, I think only two first downs in the second half, the second one coming in the last series. Defense dominated CMS run and pass game in the second half. Redlands ran a lot of 30 front in the second half, CMS O line struggled blocking linebackers and we took the hook to curl away better, forcing more outs and up top throws.

We actually moved the ball in the second half, QB was late on the goaline (nice read by the safety) on the RPO play that CMS took back to the house, cost us the game. I like our #22 at RB (speed) and we need to get # 30 the ball more in the slot (speed) ....both frosh btw.

CMS got the win when they got outplayed...nice to get lucky once in a while too

Redlands played great on D, but your O-line is weak.  You have two great RB's (thunder and Lightning).  Interesting to know that your big RB #4 is deaf.  My son thought that was cool that he has not let this disability stop him.

With PP win over the Regals (who did try to mount a comeback) ...UR was eliminated for a chance to win their division. Playing for pride at this point.

ULV game: Our defense set the tone with giving the offense two short (Red Zone fields) I will give the offense credit they converted to some points. We need to work on our FG game, can miss them all. I expect 50/50 from beyond 40 yards  in regards to FG. I am not liking out punt formation when we spread out, with no picket, shorten the angles for rushers. Hope it does not haunt us. In regards to the offense, it looks like LV loaded the box in the second half, and played more man. I expect to see more if this from PP and CMS ...

On the defensive side, our backers (run stop and pass rush) and Jax Lee on the d line playing really well, he is tough to handle one on one. One score by LV came on when our Db slipped and fell, so I not worried about 21 points.

Redlands needs to beat Pomona to get to 4 wins on the season. 6 of Jim Good's win total over the last 3 seasons has come from beating a bad ULV program.

Hello Fellow Posters, for some reason today I am more optimistic about UR football and life in general, not sure why.
Food taste better, the trees are greener and Red is my favorite color.

Sometimes, life works out for the better.  I am having the same feeling--living the dream!

UR and Pomona game is going to be interesting. Close game the last time they played. UR is at home and playing better. Pomona needs to win to clinch home field for the SCIAC championship game.

0-3 vs the Claremont Colleges this year puts the Bulldogs at 1-10 against them over their last 11 (at least that's what they said on the Redlands radio broadcast and I trust them enough not to double check)

That is an incredible number for anyone who has been around this conference. I remember the days when Redlands losing to Pomona or Claremont was considered a monumental upset. Shoot I remember when it was a monumental upset if the game was even close!

The Redlands standard and identity established under Mike Maynard's leadership is long gone. Jim Good and his staff need to be fired immediately.

The nature of college football.  Cal Lu won how many conference titles several years back, and now they stink.

Losing is never acceptable but time has changed things. PP and CMS offer some of the best aid in the league.
The formula is to recruit a kid needing aid (they can get up to 100% paid education) and selectively cherry pick across the country. CMS is a great option for a high achieving 1-AA prospect, graduate from small 1-AA or earn a degree from CMS or PP...not hard to figure out. Its essentially a mini Stanford model. This is why both are a lot better than the 90's and 2000's.

This is a convenient excuse. Redlands has played drab football for 3 years now and it continues to get worse. The program needs a reset badly.
