We are talking about 18 year old student athletes, not adults moving their families to California.

I am next door in Oregon and I don't want to go to So. Calif. either.

DOC hit the nail on the head, there is a red tide in America for sure. Exceptions would be Chicago area.

All any team needs is a few, so if UR could afford to farm it, I would give it a shot.

It seams like more than half my friends still with HS kids are sending their kids to SMU, Baylor, Alabama, Ole Miss, BYU, Utah, (Colorado the exception very liberal school) USD, APU, ASU, Arizona ...just off the top of my head

California has lost its luster to not only the adults, but the kids as well.  All they hear about in the Mid West is the over crowding, homeless problem and the cost of living. Those don't outweigh the beaches or weather to the kids of the fly over states.

ULV coach is taking an assistant job at a San Diego JC. This is a fork in the road for ULV football. They need to make some major changes and investments if they are ever going to be competitive again. The other path seems to be killing football. At least maybe Whittier coming back will give them a little incentive to stick around.

He's probably gonna make more money at the JC, plus he has a pension there.  Thought maybe he was taking the UR offensive coordinator job.  Any word on that hire?

He's been at ULV for a long time, but agree it's not a good look to give up a HC position for an Assistant position at the JUCO level. The SCIAC is already on a shaky foundation for football, so hopefully ULV regroups with a commitment to the sport.

And no word on the Athletic Director search as well.

Times are tough for D3 football teams on the West Coast.  Lewis Clark in Oregon lost its head coach to a Head High School job in Arizona.

Coach Mac at CLU left for a HS gig too. Since Pat has prohibited me from using adjectives to describe the lib school leaders...I reference Gavin Newsom, would you want to work for him?

BTW folks I said ULV jumped the Shark when the lady president wanted to be in the videos running around like a FB player in gear etc. Any serious baller would not want to play there. Have you ever seen Alabama or LF president doing those stupid videos.

I do not know this is a trend at ULV but Trevor Person the men's soccer coach and women's golf coach has resigned just before the start of golf season. The men's head coach and Director of Golf Operations has been announced she will assume the head coach role for men's and women's golf...according to AD, Dr. Jenna Panatier.

Just wondering what is going on or irony.

He was at CP Pomona, maybe he got another job there.  I would assume they pay more than D3.

I'm also interested in the U of R OC hire. I expected there to be an announcement by now. You'd want to get the guy in to help recruit as quickly as possible and I think they go to spring football pretty early now. Unless it's an inside man the new OC is going to have to install his stuff with the coaches and start with the players before spring ball starts.

Or Jim Good is not willing to fully let the offense go and their target OC candidates are saying no to the position.
