Browneagle...I take it Collins is returning then?  I know you guys also got a good frosh qb coming in as does Redlands.

Oxy does have a great incoming freshman qb, heard his name yesterday but have forgotten it now . . . regardless, based on my conversations with staff and incoming players, there has never been any doubt as to Collins returning this year.  He's an outstanding person and player.  Oxy will be tough and looking to garner another SCIAC crown.

I think his name is Sean Sudol.......both Oxy and redlands got great qb's.

with Oxy loosing 22 starters, he may not be enough to return them to a SCIAC Championship......

It's really hard to lose 22 starters when you're returning 8 on defense alone (9 if you count Stowers who started in 2004, who is back after missing last season because of injury). I think the total is 9 starters lost. And until someone figures out how to slow down the Oxy offense, there's no reason they won't be the favorites but they know as well as everyone that championships are won on the field ...

Any word on how many recruits are coming into the SCIAC schools?

Sabretooth Tiger

I think Oxy has a recruiting class just shy of 40.  And Liger is right, Oxy graduated 21 or 22 seniors, not starters.  I think the defense is returning 8 starters.  Not sure about the offense but 3 or 4 sounds about right.

Welcome, dawgs go deep.

I'm from the NWC, but I like you SCIAC guys, so I like to read this board, too.

We have Cawcdad from California, who is also the father of a daughter.  She is not one bit interested in football, but he comes up for at least one game a year at Linfield, so you're not the only one.

Welcome dawgs go deep. I visit this board as well as the NWC board. As coco said, I live in Central CA and have a daughter at Linfield. Yet I've seen more Linfield football and basketball than she has. ;D The post on the SCIAC board will increases as the season starts. Hopefully you'll get a chance to meet some posters as the season progresses. That has been a fun part of this site.

Happy Fathers Day to all the SCIAC dads out there.

DGD,

It is very tough for a freshman to start in his fist year even at the DIII level. I am glad that Redlands is getting a good recruit but most kids coming from the high school level get slapped with a reality check once they check in for fall camp.
