Dawg:  Eye, Osawld and myself were all big drinkers back in college (by "back" I mean 2 months ago ... just sounds weird doesn't it guys).  Anyways, you might want to have 9 for each of us.  Hope you are enjoying your time away from Cali.  Hopefully, by the time you get back people will start coming out of the wood works and we can get to some real serious talk about the SCIAC and what the 2006 season has in store.  I can't wait to read the kickoff 2006.  Anyone else buy it?

I have always felt that Chapman was trying to make its way into the SCIAC.  They do play every team in the conference.  I don't think adding them would hurt the quality of play in the SCIAC.  They haven't had as bad a record as our last place SCIAC finishers.  The quality of education is good from what I hear ... I mean obviously I didn't go there.  I am sure someone will have a reason to disagree, but I would really enjoy the lesson about Chapman.

Either everyone went on vacation with Dawgs or my Chapman comment made everyone so mad they left the board.  Still counting down the days till the first game!

DGD . . . I think "catalyst" or "instigator" might be more apt descriptions.

;D

No doubt you stimulated activity and made the board much more interesting here in the "dawg" days of summer . . .

Hope you're enjoying Maui . . . I understand the tropical depression lost its energy so no hurricane for you.

I'm going to say it's the quiet before the season gets under way... only 15 days till camp starts!
Go TIGERS!!!

Tough days for Tiger Football.

The tropical depression hit us today and brought depression to my girls.......and more to my credit card(s)! :(

Here I am in Maui and still getting negative love.....oh well...someone must be jealous.   :D

Two and one half weeks until the camps open.  I looked on the Redlands website and it didnt metion a scrimmage.  Can anyone help me with this?  Also isnt it about time that a recruit roster comes out?

Maybe people think you should be on the beach instead of wondering about Redlands recruiting?!

;D  That might be it!  Guess everyone has their own idea of a dream vacation in the hotel office overlooking the beach in Maui.

Speaking of Hawaii...I just bought my wife a ticket to head out there in December without me.  She's meeting some family there for a little vacation but I don't get to go because it is during my finals week.  What an injustice!

Actually, I figured it was only fair since I flew out to Virginia without her for the Stagg in '04. ;D

DGD,

Redlands has never posted a recruits roster, stop asking for it. They will post the full team roster after fall camp before the first game. Many accomplished high school players come to camp with full bravado and confidence. But after two weeks of nothing but football from 6am to 10pm, the routine and reality of college football can seem like light years away from the high school football experience. Instead of being all-league/conference they are now fourth on the depth chart. It can be a very humbling experience. Some can't take that and hang it up. At Redlands we always started camp with 125-135 in camp and went into the season with 90-100. So you can see why you will not see a full roster until after fall camp.

Gray Fox

dgd,

I know it is frustrating, but this is D3 and the SCIAC.  In time you will get to know anything that is important about all of the teams.

Thank you gentlemen for the info...and regarding the recruiting list request....I did see on the d3 website some schools post recruiting lists.

I had a great vacation, the weather was great except for the one day when we got the tail end of the hurricane.  So I wasnt in an office posting.  There is only so much sun, drinks and fun an old guy can take. :D

RFB,

I can assure you that the preseason practice of two a days isnt any more grueling than what I have seen at several hs's Crespi, St. Bonaventure and others.  In fact the conditioning those guys go through is extremely difficult.  Crespi is in the San fernando Valley where the summer temp is routinely over 100 degrees. So, if I derive the right infrerence from the rest of your post....no one is afraid of hard work.   Arent we on he same side?

Dawgs,

Camp at Oxy and im sure Redlands is the same, is usally meetings early in the morning, then a practice, then meetings at lunch, then a practice, then lifting, then a meeting at night.  Nowadays, you can have back to back double days , so thats the schedule every other day.  Before the rule change, that was the schedule every day, for almost two straight weeks!!! Now, i doubt any high school puts players through that kind of camp workout, where you eat, breathe and sleep football 24/7.
4 is the smallest composite number, its proper divisors being 1 and 2. 4 is the smallest squared prime. 4 is the only number in the English language for which the number of letters in its name is equal to the number itself. 4 is also the number of titles in a row the tigers will have in '07!! Go Oxy
