DGD . . . I think that RFB's point (not that I could possibly speak for him  :D) is that there is an exponential difference between college and high school ball . . . even at DIII level . . . given that you have said that your son played at USC, this is a difference one would think that you would already appreciate.

Of course, I have to give you points for continuing to stir the pot . . . w/o you, the SCIAC board wouldn't have surpased the Iowa board this quickly.

;D

sorry, nowadays you cant have back to back double days.
4 is the smallest composite number, its proper divisors being 1 and 2. 4 is the smallest squared prime. 4 is the only number in the English language for which the number of letters in its name is equal to the number itself. 4 is also the number of titles in a row the tigers will have in '07!! Oh yea, and if I may be permitted a "back in the day" comment . . . we had "three a days" for 2 and a half weeks . . . full gear after the first three days at the morning and afternoon sessions followed by shorts and shirts for an evening session . . . the term "hell" was aptly applied.  Meetings, meals and naps interspersed.

It's amazing you survived those "three a days" considering your generation wore leather helmets! :o

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.   :D

I watched the SC practices during the summer.  Believe me if you play D1 football, it is your life.  I can certainly understand and appreciate the additional time that is put in by an athlete at the camp, including the d3 level. I was referring more to the physical aspect, the conditioning etc.  From what I saw Crespi do last summer and this summer, man those kids work hard, really hard for hs summer conditioning programs. You really have to love the game to endure it.

I in no way am making light of the d3 involvment or the amount of effort required, and for kids from some schools the adjustment might be traumatic, while from others, not so drastic.

Because of the work ethic he developed in hs, my son was able to handle the physical aspect of it, but the time and consumption of your life can get hard to deal with sometimes.  Especially if you are not a starter.

That's fair.  How about later this week?

Is Crespi the greatest football program of all time?

no 57 it isnt but, I have seen the program progress because of the work ethic that is taught.  From what I have learned about you, sounds like they play and practice as hard as you did.  That  is a compliment!

One rule of thumb no one can argue with ....hard work brings success.

I think Crespi would win the SCIAC! ;)

rockcat

Actually that's an exaggeration.  It should be obvious that Redlands is going to win the conference since they have Crespi's QB. :D

O.C. RAH!

I was merely trying to show that some high schools have college type work schedules.  I used Crespi as an example because I am familiar with the program.

I assure you that kids from that program have an edge on most others coming into college football.  'Nuff said!   >:(

I think an Oxy fan took offense to my joking suggestion that Redlands is going to win the conference and dinged my karma because of it.  There are some sensitive folks in here!
