Just looked at D3 top 25 poll, haven't gotten the kickoff list with ALL 235!!  That makes it a buy in anyone's book.

Lets see Linfield 8 Oxy 9, Whitworth 14 points from #25, Cal Lu gets a couple.

Redlands returns to ???

I know it is all preseason hype, just couldn't resist.

Clearly the voters did not have access to Redland's recruitment list when voting.  With this new information, I'm sure Redlands would be giving Mt. Union a run for its money . . . riiigggghhhhtttt.

That's right, in their "Return to Dominance!"  :D

Let me make sure I got one thing right Oxy fans....last year at Oxy you..... beat Redlands by how much????and from what I understand, didnt the Redlands qb overthrow a wide open receiver in the end zone at the end of the game???  Now I didnt see the game but if all things are equal, I would think that the Oxy coaching staff is telling their players to be ready to play at Redlands this year.  Just a thought......  ::) ::)

Oh yeah and if the game was really that close and Oxy was rated so  high...can Redlands really be that for off????  I guess we will see. ;D

DGD knows more about D3 football than anybody who has never seen a D3 game! ::)

Just messing with you Dawgs.  But, I can see you fighting to build your case.   Are you an attorney or something?! :)

cat....a very high priced one!  You gotta admit my argument is very logical and...football is football at any level, if you barely win a game on your own field, unless it was just one of those games, then how can you claim to be that much better than the other team.

last year they lost by 3 to a very good Trinity team and 7 to Oxy.......both of those games could have gone either way...if Redlands would have beat Oxy they win the SCIAC last year...if they beat both, they may have been nationally ranked instead of, or along with Oxy.

I expect that this season will come down to the Oxy - Redlands game again.

As to the slogan, " Return to Dominance"...in the 90's the dawgs won league 6 times, and in the 2000's have already won it 3 times. While I am not really sure what defines dominance, thats not a bad track record.

I didn't see the game last year and honestly don't care all that much.  I think it's great for any conference to have multiple teams competing for the conference.  The SCIAC needs to have good competition and more than one team every ten years win a playoff game if the conference wants to be better recognized.

WC11 and I both thought the "Return to Dominance" was funny because many SCIAC outsiders look at past conference champions as probably the third best team (at best) in a good conference.  So, maybe Redlands track record in the SCIAC has been good but as you hint at, that doesn't really define dominance, especially if you can't win a game on the national level.

Maybe that explains why you have so much free time during the day? ;)

Actually "Return to Dominance" is funny because it hearkens back to a certain "Honus" who used it over and over in reference to none other than .... UPS!  I think they won five games that year, but he was so over the top that some on the board became suspicious and I think Pat finally figured out that it was a PLU player posing as a UPS fan/player.

And the thing that made Honus especially famous/infamous is that he went on every single conference board on the site at that time proclaiming the Loggers' "RETURN TO DOMINANCE"

tooth,  I wish I was that young, if I were I'd still be able to dunk a basketball.  Now, I can barely touch the net.  Its tough getting old.  Maybe I will see you at the BIG GAME, in a few weeks.

GO DAWGS GO DEEP, (and make a Return to Dominance!!)    :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Hey tooth,

DGD must be practicing, anyone who shoots 78 or so on the course in Hawaii must!  Must be a corporate attorney and has time for the links.

By the DGD, -23 now?  I thought you were at -22 a couple of days ago.  If I could I would throw you a +.  By the way is this billable hours?

Hope to see some of you guys this fall.  I plan on making it to a couple of OXY games this fall.  I'm in the Midwest.  Definitely plan on the Oxy/Redlands game

CRZK,  thanks for the good intentions......actually a 4 hadicap now...dont practice(golf) at all...I am really anxious to see the Oxy-Redlands game myself, I think that if Redlands can find a reliable qb, they will be tough.  I saw some highlites on last years qb and was not impressed at all.  From the recruiting class it looks like they are searching for one by taking 4 qb's in this years class.

I agree with dawgs 57...I dont know how they will be able to give them all a good look in 2-3 weeks of practice.  As I said before, I think they stole one recruit from D1!  I hope I dont end up eating that high cholestorol crow dish myself. ;)

tooth, mostly med-mal and PI., some legal mal.  My response was to the law school thing and my age.  I have done some labor law but from a planitiffs standpoint they are expensive to litigate and win.

Yup.. too bad, if they had made a play they could have won the game.
