As I have said here in the past, do not overlook CLU.  Oxy has some tough road games this year, for sure.

I'm also glad to see that the CC game is at the beginning of the schedule...With the amount of returning players (on paper) they seem to have this year, that game could have been a perfect "trap" game if it was played in the middle of conference play, as in years past.

On another note, I have a cousin who is stopping in L.A. for the night, I need to know if Leo's Taco Truck is still on Eagle Rock and York...before I send him 30 minutes out of his way.

Cal Lu supporters have blamed their teams recent no shows against Oxy on the early scheduling, among other things.  This year they get their wish, not playing Oxy until October 28th.  Eventhough the last time we met late in the season, Cal Lu still lost by 10! I hope that this years game is as good as it has been hyped up over the last two years. And OxyFan, Leo's is still there, just make sure your cousin is aware that there are a few taco trucks on Eagle Rock, and to make sure he goes to Leo's not any of those other imposters suck as Rambo's!!! ;D
4 is the smallest composite number, its proper divisors being 1 and 2. 4 is the smallest squared prime. 4 is the only number in the English language for which the number of letters in its name is equal to the number itself. 4 is also the number of titles in a row the tigers will have in '07!! Go Oxy

After last years letdown against the Kingsmen, I dont think the Dawgs will be overlooking them this year.

Leo's is between York and the 7-11 (closest truck to the 7-11), right in front of a scaffolding store.  Make sure he doesn't hit up an imposter...  :o, it's just not the same.
Go TIGERS!!!

Tough days for Tiger Football.

Also... Oxyfan, as I'm sure you know, Leo's has quite the following, here's a couple sites and a little info.  Thank God for the internet.

I was in the Glendale courthouse one day about 6-7 years ago.  My client was a younger guy who told me he was going to take me for the best taco's I ever had.  We went to a lunch truck.  I was very leary...he told me they were THE BEST!   I had the runs for 3 days.    I dont know if it was Leo's or not but I have never had anything from a lunch truck since, nor will I ever again. : :-[

I can safely assure you, it was not Leo's.  He holds down his territory on Eagle Rock Blvd, a short distance from the Oxy campus, and has for quite some time.

OxyOswald and Eye,

When I was at Oxy, I was known for my love of Mexican cuisine.  There was an old place in Highland Park (TV Cafe) that since has closed.  That was my first taste of "real" mexican food after growing up in Baltimore.

Now that I'm here in St. Louis, I don't get much quality stuff.  Though, it's come a long way in three years.  I craved tacos so badly that over X'mas this past year my fiancee and I flew to Acapulco and ate at a cart.  Our X'mas eve dinner consisted of 12 pastor tacos and queso fundido!

Thanks for the info.  I was at the Cardinals vs. Reds game last night but was able to check this board during the game...and put a call in to my cousin who was in El Monte.  I knew you'd all reply in time!

He later called me and said he got a speeding ticket at the 210/134 split...but said that the tacos were the best he's had in quite some time (Maybe he was Leo's first customer from Australia).  Good to see that Leo's prices have not changed too much since '96-'00.  The all meat used to be $3.00.

Thanks for the website and MySpace link too, though I can't seem to add Leo to my friends list as it asks for his last name/email.  The video is way better than anything I did in the one film class I took at Oxy!  Seeing that video and website made my night, oh the little things in life.  I have since forwarded the info to all of my contacts at Oxy.

I'd say Rambo's and the other one on the corner of Colorado and Eagle Rock don't even compare.

DGD, I can also assure you that Leo's would not have given you the runs.  Next year when Redlands plays at Oxy, put it on your list of things to do!

Rock

Any report on how big Oxy's recruit class actually is ?

Redlands ?

Eye of da TIGER

Hey Rock,

We had a discussion about this a couple of pages back, Oxy's class is set at 46, the biggest in Coach Widolff's 25 years of coaching at Oxy. Redland's recruiting class is coming in with 69 players. You can click the link below, and in the top right you will find a link for the 2006 recruits and you can read bio's on all of Redlands recruits.

Something to open some discussion on the SCIAC:

1.  Which team has the best offensive player returning?  (easy answer for you Oxy guys).

2.  Which team has the best defensive player returning?

3.  Which team has the best coaching staff?

4.  who wins the SCIAC this year?

5.  Which team got the biggest name recruit?

6.  Why cant I get more + karma??????????(for those of you who suffer from a lack of humor, this question is intended as a JOKE)

Dawgs,

As a rule of thumb I have...if someone panders for + Karma that is an auto smite from me.  Let the +K happen organically.

As for your questions above....love number 5.  However, what I did hear on the street is that one SCIAC team got 50 lbs of QB in a 25 lb bag.

wildcat.....I dont think karma has anything to do with ORGANICS, maybe everthing I have read about SCIAC academics being some of the best around is true, it obvioulsy doenst apply to the NW......you post on the board very nicely, why didnt you post your private messge to me on the board.....afraid of getting some - ?

I dont know what you .....heard on the street....... but if you actually knew anything about football, ........oh never mind its not worth the effort.
