scandihoovian,

I am sure tha is true.  I was hopeful that the schools would have published their all time-records vs. opponents on the sites, but Redlands only shows history in the Maynard Era, dating to 1988.
Here's a whale of a statistic for you.  Over the last 18 years, UR has the 2nd highest winning percentage of ANY program in California, even better than USC.  Impressed, aren't you?  I'm sure DGD will take that one and run!

Dawgs,
I did see the prediction portion that you are referring to.  I think it might be a mistake or that the two  are so evenly matched this year that it was hard to make a decision on which one will actually go.  Thus, by putting them both at 5-1 even Pat and the gang cant determine who will be second in league.  Should be a real good game assuming oxy runs through the SCIAC!  It might even convince me to make the horrible drive out to the smog infested Redlands.

El Tigre..........

Smog???????  I drove thru Eagle Rock on Saturday and the smog was so thick that I couldnt even see the eagle on the rock.  It was soooooooooo bad I had to use my windshield wipers to brush it off my windshield.   :D ;)

dawgs57....I already knew that.....I read it on the website and was going to post it but figured I would get smited and smited again ;)

I heard from one of the WR's dads and he said really good things are going on at the UR camp however he did not elaborate....do you know of any individual brright spots or disappointments?

Rock,

The intensity level has been so high mainly because they have been breathing, sleeping and thinking about football for the past two weeks. With the entire student body still on vaction, the boys are just stuck with football, food and nothing more. I'm glad that throughout the past years the staff at Oxy has been able to get the kids on campus early. This method has kept the kids from being distracted and more focused on football. Something that will help them as soon as classes start.

CAN SOMEBODY EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THE NWC IS RANKED 3RD OUT OF 25 CONFERENCES IN THE COUNTRY, AND THE SCIAC IS RANKED 18TH. TOP TO BOTTOM THE SCIAC IS A MUCH TOUGHER CONFERENCE.

I'll bite...check the playoff history chart on the home page for starters... :)

Hmmmm . . . . look, I bleed Oxy Orange and the SCIAC is my home . . . has been for over three decades . . . but saying that "top to bottom the SCIAC is a much tougher conference" than the NWC indicates a lack of familiarity with West Coast DIII football or a major psychosis . . . I'd get back on the meds right away if it's the latter . . .

imho   ;D

I'll piggy back on downtown48's post. Based on the wonderful information located here on d3football.com, in head to head competition since 1999 (including Menlo and Pomona-Pitzer independent years) the NWC holds a 43 - 27 edge over the SCIAC. 18 of the SCIAC wins have come over Puget Sound and Lewis & Clark.

NWC                              SCIAC
Linfield 8-0                    Occidental 8-5
Willamette 2-1               Redlands 2-9
Whitworth 5-1               Whittier 1-8
Puget Sound 7-7            LaVerne 2-5
Pacific Lutheran 3-1       Cal Lutheran 5-7
Lewis & Clark 3-11         CMS 6-4
Menlo 15-6                     Pomona-Pitzer 3-5

WOW..... and you guys said I knew very little about d3 football........I think it has been 'splained to pitkaine!!!

Why did Oxy start camp before Redlands??? UR reported last Saturday and from what Ive read Oxy and a few others have already been at it for a week?  Does it have to do with the school start date????

Also .......does anyone know what time the UR scrimmage is on the 2nd and who do they play?

GO DAWGS.........GO DEEP!

Welcome, Pitkaine.

You're off to a rousing start -- coming on the board not knowing what you're talking about, and shouting at everyone. Good job.

Pitkaine,
I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt....I interpret your comment to mean that the SCIAC is much better than 18th compared to the rest of the conferences in DIII....right?

Welcome to the board.
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

DGD,
I believe the practice start dates depend on a teams first game! seems like 3 weeks is what it comes down too.
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!
